This position is a 7/7 schedule and will report to the Chief Mine Engineer. </span></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri, 'sans-serif'"><span style="font-family:'Arial', 'sans-serif'">There is a camp available while on shift for those who wish to drive in and out to Snow Lake.</span> <strong><span style="font-family:'Arial', 'sans-serif'">Please note that this opportunity is NOT a fly-in-fly-out position.</span></strong></span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri, 'sans-serif'"><strong><span style="font-family:'Arial', 'sans-serif'">Primary Function:</span></strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px">Under supervision performs a variety of tasks associated with the design, drafting and maintenance of ventilation systems.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri, 'sans-serif'"><strong><span style="font-family:'Arial', 'sans-serif'">Prerequisites:</span></strong></span></span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Conducts periodic ventilation surveys using standard equipment and methods to ensure adequate fresh air is being provided to all working places.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Checks the condition of fans and bulkheads and initiates work orders for repair as required.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Prepares drawings for ventilation systems.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Designs ventilation systems usually in conjunction with Mine Planners.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Recommends the selection of fans and heaters as required.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Assists in the preparation of annual budget by estimating future ventilation equipment requirements.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Conducts annual stench warning tests and dust surveys using standard equipment and methods and prepares reports.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Conducts an annual air survey of air volumes and qualities for the mine and prepares reports.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Updates ventilation maps, which show volumes and qualities.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Maintains a record of all mine fans and heaters.</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Prepare emergency egress plans</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Bi-weekly ventilation report</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Gas monitoring</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Diesel submissions</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Ventsim and Microsoft products</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Ventilation Technologist diploma</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Ability to drive underground</span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px">Performs other related duties as assigned</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri, 'sans-serif'"><strong><span style="font-family:'Arial', 'sans-serif'">Compensation Package:</span></strong></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri, 'sans-serif'"><span style="font-family:'Arial', 'sans-serif'">Profit sharing, full benefits package beginning day 1 of employment and pension.</span></span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri, 'sans-serif'"><span style="font-family:'Arial', 'sans-serif'">Job Type: Full-time</span></span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:11.0pt"><span style="font-family:Calibri, 'sans-serif'"><span style="font-family:'Arial', 'sans-serif'">Salary: $43.88</span><span style="font-family:'Arial', 'sans-serif'"><span style="color:#222222"> - $48.19</span></span><span style="font-family:'Arial', 'sans-serif'"> /hour</span></span></span></p> <p> </p> <div> <p>Hudbay Minerals Inc., Manitoba Business Unit (MBU) is committed to fostering an<br>inclusive workplace where all employees are treated with respect and dignity.<br>and encourages applicants of all experience and ability levels to apply.
