This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in geotechnical engineering and gain hands-on experience working alongside experienced geotechnical professionals in a dynamic mining environment.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Why You’ll Love Working for Us</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li><a name="_Hlk213923844"></a>6% site allowance</li> <li>Quarterly bonus up to 10%, monthly private health allowance</li> <li>5 weeks annual leave, long service leave after 5 years, paid parental leave</li> <li>Internal & external training & $10K referral bonus</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>What You’ll Do</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist with a range of day-to-day geotechnical activities, including wall inspections, structural mapping, core logging, core sampling, monitoring activities, instrumentation, and data management.</li> <li>Support the installation, maintenance, and monitoring of geotechnical instrumentation such as prisms, piezometers, and radar systems.</li> <li>Collect, manage, and validate geotechnical monitoring and operational data.</li> <li>Maintain geotechnical monitoring equipment and field consumables.</li> <li>Support investigations into geotechnical hazards and incidents.</li> <li>Support continuous improvement initiatives within the geotechnical department.</li> <li>Demonstrate our core values and help foster an inclusive culture where everyone feels respected, supported, and valued.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>What You’ll Bring</strong></p> <ul> <li>Completion of Year 12 education, with strengths in literacy and mathematics</li> <li>Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering, Geological Engineering or Geology is preferred but not essential</li> <li>Displayed experience in mining working environment or geology.</li> <li>Exposure to Geology/Geotechnical data collection,</li> <li>Ability to utilise or be trained to utilise Microsoft Office and mining software such as Deswik and Geotechnical software.</li> </ul> <ul> <li>A growth mindset, with strong communication, responsibility, and relationship-building skills.</li> <li>A current Australian Driver's Licence</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>About Gold Fields</strong></p> <p>At Gold Fields, we believe great leadership is grounded in empathy, respect, and growth.
