SCOPE As a Production Planner, you will be responsible for analysis & planning, organizing, and controlling the flow of production hardware to support scheduling of orders, materials and services in support of established and scheduled customer commitments. As a member of an Integrated Product Team (IPT) the planner will work closely with manufacturing, purchasing, engineering, quality, production control and inventory control staff to identify and eliminate constraints. RESPONSIBILITIES <ul> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Generate and respond to the various SAP ERP/MRP functionalities in support of operations.</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Maintain periodic production schedules for all associated product families.</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Execute ERP messaging tools to coordinate efforts needed to support operational needs.</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Alert program & upper-level management when constraints inhibit product flow</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Process timely release of shop orders in quantities that supports upper-level demand. </li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Assist program management with purchase requisitions for materials/services as needed.</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Ensure system lead times are reviewed & adjusted as required</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Correct system data that results in invalid load, lead time & schedule outputs</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Develop and maintain strong working relationship with all IPT team members</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Participate in meetings, seminars and presentations as directed by upper management. </li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Demonstrate an earnest commitment to the company’s objectives for Perfect Delivery, Perfect Quality, 5S, Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and any other improvement initiatives.</li> </ul> SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS <ul> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">High School Diploma Required</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Bachelor’s Degree Preferred (Business, Supply Chain Management, or related) / 4 or more years of experience in a production planning role in lieu of degree. </li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">APICS Training/Seminars, coursework or Vocation/National Certification preferred. </li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Minimum 1 year’s current experience with a computerized ERP/MRP or equivalent system</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Minimum 1 years as a Planner/Scheduler with a manufacturing company, preferably aerospace </li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Minimum 1 years working background within a manufacturing environment, preferably aerospace and/or defense-related & one utilizing "Lean" concepts and practices.</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Strong analytical skills / work independently with little or no direct supervision & within a team </li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Experience with Microsoft Applications including Excel and pivot tables.</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Able to read and understand engineering drawings or blueprints.</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Strong knowledge of and exposure to various types of manufacturing processes and controls </li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Self-motivated to excel, act upon and achieve best possible results.</li> <li style="color:black;font-size:12.0pt">Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.</li> </ul> NOTES: This job description in no way states or implies that these are the only duties to be performed by this position's employee(s).
