This individual will serve a key leadership function in growing Langan’s Traffic/Transportation Practice in California dedicated to serving private sector developers, corporations, public entities, and institutional clients on their real estate development projects.<b> </b>In this role, you will have the opportunity to leverage Langan’s national Traffic/Transportation leadership team and established practice paired with our rapidly growing multi-disciplinary California team to fuel the growth of the California Traffic/Transportation group.</span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style=""><span style="">Job Responsibilities</span></span></p> <ul> <li><span style=""><span style="">Work closely with firm’s Traffic/Transportation and California leadership to develop and execute growth plans;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Lead staffing and hiring initiatives for California, ensuring strong organizational strategy utilization;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Participate in the identification and pursuit of new clients, develop additional work within an existing project and attend business development meetings with new and existing clients;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Understanding of the CEQA and CALTRAN processes as well as city and state pre-qualification processes.</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Provide direct oversight and management of junior staff for specific project assignments. Coach, train, and motivate Traffic/Transportation staff;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Lead Traffic/Transportation efforts on a variety of project including the ability to prepare Traffic Impact Analysis, state roadway and driveway permitting, etc.;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Manage and deliver on multiple projects and tasks within specific budgets, schedules, and deadlines. Prepare progress reports and draft change orders. Prepare draft invoices, project billings, and assist in payment collections;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Coordinate and work with staff to determine the feasibility of projects based on the analysis of preliminary data, and prepare and modify reports, specifications, plans, and design for projects;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Effectively organize, write and edit draft proposals, reports and other documents;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Interface effectively, and professionally with clients, contractors, subcontractors, staff, project personnel, supervisors and other office locations/disciplines; and</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Perform other duties as required.</span></span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style=""><span style="">Qualifications</span></span></p> <ul> <li><span style=""><span style="">Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Master's degree in Traffic/Transportation a plus;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Professional Engineering license;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">15+ years of Traffic Engineering/Transportation Planning experience in traffic/transportation engineering, traffic impact studies, traffic signal warrants, parking studies, driveway design, and traffic signal design;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Familiarity with state permitting and DOT guidelines and protocols for traffic impact analysis and highway design;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Existing relationships with CEQA practitioners and local land use attorneys a plus;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Understanding of various city and state pre-qualification processes;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Effective public speaking skills; public testimony experience desirable;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Ability to effectively manage multiple clients and projects, and to develop and manage project budgets;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Knowledge of Synchro, ITE Trip Generation, HCM;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Knowledge of Vissim, AutoCAD, MicroStation are a plus;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Ability to coach and assist with the management of staff;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Excellent written and verbal communication skills;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities;</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment; and</span></span></li> <li><span style=""><span style="">Possess reliable transportation for client meetings and job site visits and a valid driver’s license in good standing; Ability to occasionally travel and participate in field work.</span></span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style=""><span style="">Langan provides a rich array of programs and benefits to help its employees advance their careers and enhance the quality of their lives. The estimated range for this role is: $112,500 - $171,000. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.</span></span></p>
