The sought lead process safety engineer ensures company HSE requirements (e.g. Six Step) are implemented accordingly in investment projects meeting Neste’s business objectives Responsibilities <ul style="margin-top:0.0px;margin-bottom:0.0px"> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Ensure that all Neste HSE design guidelines are followed during execution of projects </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Support project team and other stakeholders in process safety requirements with the development of: firefighting design, which includes allocation of safety equipment (e.g.extinguishers, safety showers, hydrants, monitors, alarms, manual call points, etc), fire water demand calculations, fireproofing assessment, Fire and Gas Detection studies, escape routes, etc </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Support and develop Hazardous Area Classification (HAC) studies </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Work in closely with permitting and authority engineering teams to identify and ensure that project scope is in line with environmental limitations, local guidelines and are accepted by authorities </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Provide stakeholders in projects with guidance on current best practice risk management, including lifecycle hazard management, hazard and risk workshop methodologies (PHA, HAZOP, LOPA and/or HAZID), Inherently Safer Design philosophy knowledge, barrier-based risk management from early phase design to late phase assurance </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> 5+ years experience of facilitating Hazop&LOPAs and other risk assessments, managing action tracking for assessments within the process safety scope </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Solid understanding of Functional Safety principles (e.g., IEC 61511) and Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Ensure all HSE engineering reviews are conducted effectively by coordinating and ensuring facilitators are nominated and those recommendations from these reviews are incorporated as necessary </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Conduct layout risk analysis ensuring safety distances are adequate when installing new equipment </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Able to identify need and perform consequence analysis by use of PHAST </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Lead and report HSE activities of investment projects and actively communicate HSE related issues to the project continuously enhance professional knowledge in process safety and related engineering tools </li> </ul> Keys to success in this role <ul> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif">BSc or Msc. in Chemical or mechanical Engineering discipline. </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Experienced (+10 years) in O&G/ chemical investment projects, work processes, procedures and delivery resource management out of which 5+ years spent working in the Netherlands. </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Experience preferably obtained at a manufacturing company or with an engineering contractor managing capital projects in the oil and gas industry. </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> Familiar with international safety industry standards as well as local PGS’s. </li> <li style="font-size:10.0pt;font-family:Arial, sans-serif"> 5+ years experience of facilitating Hazop&LOPAs. </li> </ul>
