PCL Constructors Canada Inc. is collaborating with multiple partners from across the country to undertake the single largest healthcare infrastructure project considered in Nova Scotia. As a complex mega project, PCL is assembling a team of experienced construction professionals that will be dedicated to the completion of the project. As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth.</p> <p> </p> <p>We are seeking an Engineering Student, for our <strong>Toronto District</strong>, working in <strong>Halifax</strong>, within our Canadian Buildings Division that are available for<strong> 4 or 8 months</strong> starting in<strong> September 2026.</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>As an <strong>Engineering Student</strong> you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:</p> <p> </p> <div> <div> <h2><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></h2> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Coordinating drawings, work specific scope / trades, trade quote reviews – verify material quantities, verify hours, verify rates, deficiency walks etc</li> <li>Participating in project meetings, </li> <li>Inputting / Updating deficiency logs and issuing warranties</li> <li>Taking / Coordinating progress photos, and updating field drawings</li> <li>Producing as-built drawings</li> <li>Performing quantity takeoffs, coordinating and supervising sub-trade work and </li> <li>Verifying site conditions and coordinating with drawings</li> <li>Setting-up / Maintaining record keeping</li> <li>Layout site lines and grades using total station</li> <li>Creating manual schedules, updating schedules using Primavera P6 EPPM software, maintaining graphical scheduling using AutoCAD.</li> <li>Obtaining scheduling information from sub-trades and updating project schedules</li> <li>Monitoring workforce productivity</li> </ul> <p> </p> </div> </div> <div> <div> <h2><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><strong>Qualifications</strong></span></h2> </div> <div> <div> <div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.</li> <li>Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.</li> </ul> <p> </p> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div><div></div><div> <div> <div> <div id="footerContent"> <p><strong>Next Step:</strong></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Please note that candidates who have been selected to move forward to the next stage of the recruitment process will receive an email to complete a short online video interview.</li> </ul> <p> </p> </div> </div> </div> </div> <div id="footerContent"> <p>The estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37- $31.33, based on your experience and qualifications.
