Here's how a Health, Safety, and Environment Student for our Ottawa office contributes to our team:<div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px">Responsibilities</H2> </div><div>· Assisting the HSE Professional with inspections and incidental investigations · Managing documents (ie. data entry, SMC entries, taking minutes, filing etc.) · Assisting with the orientation of new employees · Developing of training materials · Reviewing paperwork (ie. PSI, tailgate meetings, safework procedure, trend analysis) · Monitoring and maintaining the environmental program · Recognizing and following PCL and local legislative requirements · Analyzing site-specific trends and incidents and reporting findings to district · Gathering/reviewing/distributing safety-related statistical information · Interpreting, communicating, and reinforcing project safety standards to workforce</div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px">Qualifications</H2> </div><div>· Ability to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures · Knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems which meet compliance · Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards · The ability to determine the cause of an incident, and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent the likelihood of reoccurrence · Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) · Strong willingness to learn</div></div></div>The estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37 – $31.33 based on your experience and qualifications.
