As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth.</p> <p> </p> <p>We are seeking an <strong>Occupational Health and Safety Student</strong>, for our <strong>Toronto District</strong>, within our Canadian Buildings Division that is available for <strong>4 or 8 months starting September 2026.</strong></p> </div> <div> <div> <div> <h2><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span></h2> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Assisting the HSE Professional with inspections and incidental investigations</li> <li>Managing documents (ie. data entry, SMC entries, taking minutes, filing etc.)</li> <li>Assisting with the orientation of new employees</li> <li>Developing of training materials</li> <li>Reviewing paperwork (ie. PSI, tailgate meetings, safework procedure, trend analysis)</li> <li>Monitoring and maintaining the environmental program</li> <li>Recognizing and following PCL and local legislative requirements</li> <li>Analyzing site-specific trends and incidents and reporting findings to district</li> <li>Gathering/reviewing/distributing safety-related statistical information</li> <li>Interpreting, communicating, and reinforcing project safety standards to workforce</li> </ul> <p> </p> </div> </div> <div> <div> <h2><span style="font-size:12.0pt"><strong>Qualifications</strong></span></h2> </div> <div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Ability to implement HSE program elements and safe operating procedures</li> <li>Knowledge of environmental requirements and the ability to implement systems which meet compliance</li> <li>Ability to plan and employ preventative measures to reduce the risks of exposure to hazards</li> <li>The ability to determine the cause of an incident, and to initiate and implement corrective action to prevent the likelihood of reoccurrence</li> <li>Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)</li> <li>Strong willingness to learn</li> </ul> <p> </p> </div> </div> </div><div></div><div> <div> <div> <p><strong>Next Step:</strong></p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Please note that candidates who have been selected to move forward to the next stage of the recruitment process will receive an email to complete a short online video interview.</li> </ul> </div> </div> </div> <div id="footerContent"> <p>The estimated hourly range for this role is $21.37- $31.33, based on your experience and qualifications.
