JRI Singapore currently supports the overall IT functions of Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation (SMBC) in Asia Pacific Region.</p> <p> </p> <p><span style="text-decoration:underline;font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Responsibilities</strong></span><br><strong>Technical Solutioning & Design Ownership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead technical solutioning from requirements to delivery.</li> <li>Translate requirements into scalable, maintainable technical designs.</li> <li>Drive design decisions and review offshore/vendor solutions.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Quality Governance & Engineering Excellence</strong></p> <ul> <li>Take accountability for technical quality across all development work.</li> <li>Enforce and improve technical standards, coding practices, and solution quality.</li> <li>Conduct design and code reviews and proactively manage technical risks.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Offshore & Vendor Technical Leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Provide technical guidance and oversight to offshore and vendor teams.</li> <li>Review deliverables and ensure alignment with approved designs and standards.</li> <li>Collaborate with stakeholders to manage dependencies, risks, and timelines.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Delivery Support & Testing</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support teams in unit, integration, and UAT testing.</li> <li>Review release procedures, deployment readiness, and rollback strategies.</li> <li>Support production implementation and post-go-live stabilization.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Problem Management & Continuous Improvement</strong></p> <ul> <li>Lead root cause analysis and implement preventive measures.</li> <li>Drive improvements in design, practices, and delivery processes.</li> <li>Contribute to platform modernization and workflow automation initiatives.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Mentorship & Knowledge Leadership</strong></p> <ul> <li>Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in design, development, and testing.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="text-decoration:underline;font-size:14.0pt"><strong>Requirements</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.</li> <li>5 - 8 years’ experience in Java (J2EE, Spring) and modern front-end frameworks (Angular, AngularJS, React, ReactJS).</li> <li>Strong experience in solution design, quality governance, and offshore/vendor oversight.</li> <li>Experience with workflow systems; banking/financial services preferred.</li> <li>Experience in deploying and maintaining cloud-native Java applications on cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP).</li> <li>Hands-on exposure to container platforms such as Kubernetes and OpenShift.</li> <li>Familiarity with SDLC methodologies (Waterfall and Agile).</li> <li>Strong understanding of non-functional requirements: performance, security, scalability, and maintainability.</li> <li>Strong ownership and accountability for technical outcomes.</li> <li>Ability to drive design decisions, challenge solutions constructively, and provide technical governance.</li> <li>Proactive in identifying risks, resolving issues, and implementing preventive measures.</li> <li>Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.</li> <li>Experience leading or mentoring software developers.</li> <li>Hands-on experience with workflow/BPM platforms (e.g., Newgen BPM).<br><br></li> </ul>
