<p>Credit Underwriting &amp; Counterparty Credit Risk Management</p><p><strong>Role Overview</strong></p> <p>The Assistant Vice President (AVP) will support the execution of credit risk management activities, with a focus on underwriting and counterparty credit risk for Capital Markets and Global Markets businesses in APAC (ex-Japan).</p> <p>The role is primarily execution-focused, supporting senior team members, including the Executive Director (ED), in governance, reporting, analytics, and stakeholder coordination.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p> <p><strong>1. Risk Frameworks &amp; Governance (Support Role)</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support the implementation and execution of established risk governance and control frameworks.</li> <li>Assist in maintaining and updating risk management documentation (policies, procedures, and guidelines).</li> <li>Prepare and compile materials for risk reporting and governance-related requirements under guidance from senior team members.</li> <li>Support ongoing monitoring of adherence to internal policies and frameworks.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>2. Data Analysis &amp; Reporting</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support data collection and consolidation across credit, market, and macroeconomic areas.</li> <li>Perform data analysis to identify basic trends, exposures, and potential risk areas, with guidance from senior team members.</li> <li>Prepare regular and ad-hoc reports for internal stakeholders, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.</li> <li>Assist in the preparation of portfolio reviews and presentations for senior management.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>3. Risk Committees &amp; Reporting Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support the preparation of materials for Risk Committees, including drafting presentation materials, managing documentation, and taking meeting minutes.</li> <li>Track and follow up on action items and deliverables arising from committee discussions.</li> <li>Ensure timely coordination of reporting requirements across teams.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>4. Stakeholder Coordination &amp; Project Support</strong></p> <ul> <li>Support coordination of discussions with internal stakeholders across APAC and Head Office (Tokyo), under guidance from senior team members.</li> <li>Assist in ongoing risk initiatives and projects, including information gathering and documentation.</li> <li>Work closely with various internal functions such as Front Office, Risk Management, Finance, and Compliance.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>5. Additional Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Contribute to improvements in reporting processes and data management practices.</li> <li>Support regulatory, audit, and internal review requirements as needed.</li> <li>Perform other ad-hoc tasks assigned by senior management.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Key Competencies</strong></p> <ul> <li>Basic understanding of credit risk and counterparty risk concepts.</li> <li>Familiarity with financial markets products is advantageous but not required.</li> <li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.</li> <li>Good communication skills and stakeholder management ability.</li> <li>Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Job Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, or related field.</li> <li>Minimum 3+ years of experience in a financial institution.</li> <li>Exposure to credit risk or financial markets is desirable but not mandatory.</li> <li>Strong proficiency in MS Office.</li> <li>Fluent in written and spoken English.</li> </ul>
