<p><span>The individual will join the FX and Rates trading team in SMBC GMTAP and be responsible for market making and risk management in Asia Emerging Market currency products.</span></p><p><span style="font-size:16.0px"><strong>Job Title: Director, Senior Trader – Asia Emerging Markets (EM) Currencies </strong></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><strong>Job Purpose</strong></span></p> <p>The individual will join FX and Rates trading team in SMBC Global Markets & Treasury Asia Pacific division (GMTAP) and be responsible for market making and risk management in Asia EM currency products</p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><strong>Job Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul> <li>Provide expertise in market-making, execution, risk management, market insights, and advisory services on Asia emerging market FX and rates products.</li> <li>Maximize SMBC clients’ transaction volume and revenue across FX (NDF), rates (NDS, NDIRS), and options (ND Option) products.</li> <li>Enhance the trading desk to deliver top-notch professional service to SMBC’s clients.</li> <li>Adhere to all SMBC rules, regulations, and compliance requirements.</li> <li>Collect and update market information, providing insightful market commentary to SMBC colleagues.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-size:14.0px">Job Requirements</span></strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Economics, or Commerce.</li> <li>At least 10 years of experience as an interbank trader in Asia emerging markets.</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of Asia EM currency markets, including NDF, NDS, NDIRS and ND options.</li> <li>Familiarity with onshore markets and regulations in the APAC region.</li> <li>Solid understanding of Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate markets.</li> <li>Strong fundamental and technical market analytical skills.</li> <li>Comfortable with data and model analysis.</li> <li>Excellent team player with strong ethics.</li> <li>Well-read and genuinely interested in financial markets.</li> </ul>
