As an <strong>Assembly Lead</strong>, you will serve as the day‑to‑day lead for the assembly area, ensuring heater units are assembled accurately, safely, and in accordance with work orders, blueprints, and engineering specifications. This role provides hands‑on leadership on the floor, supports and guides assemblers, helps resolve technical and assembly issues, and ensures production, quality, and safety expectations are met.</span></p> <p><span style=""><strong>What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)</strong></span></p> <p><span style="">While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:</span></p> <p><span style=""><strong>Assembly & Technical Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style=""><span style="">Assemble all heater unit product codes and fabricate necessary components per work order, blueprint, and engineering specifications.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Drill and tap holes in specified locations for mounting control units.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Attach breakers, relays, connectors, bus bars, transformers, or insulators.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Install and wire thermostats and other product options.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Perform hypot testing per specification.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Test and adjust electrical components to ensure proper operation and compliance with specifications.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style=""><strong>Lead Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style=""><span style="">Serve as the primary point of contact for the assembly area, providing day‑to‑day direction and support to assemblers.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Assist with training and onboarding of new employees and provide guidance to existing team members on assembly methods, safety, and quality standards.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Monitor workflow, prioritize work, and help balance resources to meet production schedules.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Review work for accuracy and quality, addressing issues promptly to minimize rework or delays.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Communicate and collaborate with supervision, engineering, and other departments to resolve assembly issues and clarify production requirements.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style=""><strong>Safety, Quality & Continuous Improvement</strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style=""><span style="">Promote and enforce safe work practices and proper use of tools and equipment.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient assembly area.</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Identify opportunities for process improvements and support continuous improvement initiatives within the assembly area.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style=""><strong>What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)</strong></span></p> <p><span style="">We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:</span></p> <p><span style=""><strong>Required Experience</strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style=""><span style="">One to three months related assembly experience and/or training</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Prior experience acting as a lead, trainer, or go‑to resource in an assembly or manufacturing environment preferred</span></li> </ul> <p><span style=""><strong>Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style=""><span style="">Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering specifications</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Ability to provide direction and support to others without formal supervisory authority</span></li> <li style=""><span style="">Effective communication and problem‑solving skills</span></li> </ul> <p><span style=""><strong>Education</strong></span></p> <ul type="disc"> <li style=""><span style="">High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or equivalent combination of education and experience</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style=""><strong>Travel & Working Environment</strong></span></p> <p><span style="">Employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
