This role partners closely with Genfare and segment leadership to translate financial insights into operating actions, capital allocation decisions, and long-range strategy, while ensuring compliance with SPX Technologies’ financial policies and all applicable regulatory requirements. The Director of Finance leads the finance team across FP&A, accounting, and related functions, and acts as a key member of the Genfare leadership team.</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Strategic Leadership and Business Partnership</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Serve as the primary finance business partner to the Genfare General Manager and Detection and Measurement leadership, providing data-driven insights and recommendations that shape strategy and execution.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Develop and implement financial strategies aligned with SPX Technologies’ and Genfare’s growth, margin, and cashflow objectives.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Lead financial aspects of strategic initiatives, including pricing, new product introductions, commercial models, and service offerings across hardware, software, and SaaS.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Support evaluation of M&A opportunities, partnerships, and other strategic investments, including due diligence, financial modeling, and integration planning.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Financial Planning, Budgeting, and Forecasting</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Own the annual operating plan, long-range financial plan, and rolling forecasts for the Genfare business, ensuring alignment with segment and corporate expectations.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Drive a rigorous FP&A cadence, including revenue, margin, operating expense, and working capital forecasts, with clear variance analysis and action plans.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Establish and maintain standard financial models and scenario analyses to assess market, product, and operational plans (e.g., SaaS growth, implementation revenue, service revenue, and hardware sales).</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Financial Reporting, Analysis, and KPIs</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ensure timely, accurate, and insightful monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for Genfare, including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow, and key operational metrics.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Monitor and interpret key performance indicators for the business (e.g., revenue mix, SaaS ARR, gross margin, project margins, implementation and program management productivity, working capital, and cash conversion).</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Provide clear narrative and analysis to segment and corporate leadership, highlighting trends, risks, and opportunities along with recommended actions.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Controls, Compliance, and Risk Management</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Maintain robust internal controls, policies, and procedures consistent with SPX Technologies’ standards and GAAP, ensuring compliance with all financial, tax, and regulatory requirements.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Oversee preparation for and support of internal and external audits; manage relationships with auditors and key external financial partners as needed.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Identify and manage financial and operational risks, including project, contract, credit, and compliance risks, implementing mitigation strategies where appropriate.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Team Leadership and Talent Development</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Lead, mentor, and develop talent as a player coach for the small versatile team, including FP&A, accounting, and related support roles, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Define roles, responsibilities, and priorities within the finance organization to support a growing, evolving product and services portfolio.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Partner with broader leadership to drive cross-functional alignment, improve processes (e.g., project accounting, revenue recognition, implementation and program tracking), and enable effective decision-making.</span></li> </ul> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Cross-Functional and Operational Support</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Partner with Programs, Implementation, Operations, Product Management, Sales, and Managed Services to ensure financial transparency and discipline across the project and implementation lifecycle.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Support program and implementation leaders in revenue planning, capacity and resource planning, and profitability analysis for projects and SaaS offerings.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance forecasting accuracy, project performance, cost management, and customer value.<a name="qualifications"></a></span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Qualifications</strong></span></p> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA and/or CPA/CMA strongly preferred.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">10+ years of progressive experience in finance, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role (Director, VP, or equivalent) in an industrial, manufacturing, or complex technology environment.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience supporting or leading a business unit or P&L of comparable scale $100m-$200m ideally within an industrial, project based and recurring revenue based, or SaaS-enabled business.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting standards, internal controls, contractual terms, and regulatory requirements.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Demonstrated experience with acquisitions, including due diligence and integration.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Proven track record of building and leading high-performing finance teams and driving performance improvements.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Advanced analytical, strategic thinking, and problem-solving skills; comfortable working in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and partner effectively with senior leaders, cross-functional teams, and external stakeholders.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g., JDE or similar) and advanced Excel skills; The salary estimate provided represents the typical salary range for the position, and other factors may be used to determine the successful candidate’s actual salary, including skill set, experience, training, education, organizational needs, internal equity, market data, and geographic zone. The estimated salary range for this position is: $170,000 - $230,000 At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus plan, subject to the rules governing the plan.
