As the Manufacturing Manager, you will be responsible for the strategy and overseeing the daily operation in EM (Electro Mechanical) assembly and for direct and indirect supervision of the EM assembly personnel. The Manufacturing Manager ensures that products are produced safely, at the highest quality level and cost efficiently and that products are delivered on time. Additionally, the Manufacturing Manager has overall site EHS and facility management responsibility. This is a 100% on-site role. </span><br><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"> </span><br><br></p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:</span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">EM Assembly</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Oversee EM operational systems and processes assuring practices are consistent and processes are followed while looking for opportunities for improvement.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Formulate EM strategic and operational objectives.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Collaborate closely with planning, purchasing and warehouse departments.</span> <ul> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ensure parts are available and ready prior to initiating assembly. </span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Resolve issues in their respective areas that prevent EM from starting assembly as planned.</span></li> </ul> </li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Lead direct and indirect reports, ten to twenty total employees. </span> <ul> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Set expectations for direct and indirect employees and ensure performance meets expectations.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Address performance issues, lead hiring and training.</span></li> </ul> </li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Anticipates and tracks operational and tactical risks and provides solutions to prevent and mitigate risks.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Monitor EM KPIs. Creates mitigation plans when measures consistently miss target and/or trend negative.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Work with Quality Manager to put quality controls in place to ensure EM tasks are performed on-time at the highest quality level while finding ways to improve quality.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Facility</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Communicates and coordinates with landlord the repair &amp; maintenance of the building/grounds including emergency and preventive type repairs and ensuring work is completed appropriately and on-time.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Monitors the safety and cleanliness of the interior and exterior areas including custodial functions.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Manages and reviews facility service contracts.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ensures facilities inspections are completed, results documented and corrections executed as needed.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">EHS</span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Organizes and leads the Safety Team.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Assist Human Resources as needed to ensure employees conduct annual safety training.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Be the site liaison to Corporate EHS team.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Ensure security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Be the liaison to OSHA, includes submission of annual reports and notification of incidents.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)</span></strong></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:</span></p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Required Experience</span></strong></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Minimum of seven years’ work experience in manufacturing leadership role.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Minimum of two (2) years managing a staff, proven success in leading teams and improving performance.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience working in with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook.</span></li> <li> </li> </ul> <p><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Preferred Experience</span></strong></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience in electromechanical assembly. More weighted to electro than mechanical.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience in an operation that uses a MRP system.</span></li> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Experience with Oracle’s on prem or cloud MRP system.</span></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities</span></strong></p> <p><strong><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Primary</span></strong></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Must be hands on. The estimated salary range for this position is: $170,000 - $190,000. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This role is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus plan, subject to the rules governing the plan.
