GENERAL DESCRIPTION Reporting to the Plant Superintendent the Lathe Operator works proficiently with others, but also has the ability to work well independently. The Lathe Operator will have the ability to safely and efficiently operate lathe and roll rotating equipment. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Initial assignment qualities and responsibilities to include: <ul style="margin-top:0.0in;margin-bottom:8.0pt"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Trim and Skim rolls to pre-grind specifications</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Cut off old rubber, composite, ceramic, PU, and other covers.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Complete paperwork as necessary on factory orders and roll receiving reports.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Learn to operate new equipment if/when upgraded.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Cut locking grooves per SPI specifications when needed.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Install fusor or other end treatments when needed.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Cut grooves in covers.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Keep machine and area clean.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Sand rolls with belt sander when needed.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Remove full thickness samples from roll covers </li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Be willing and able to proficiently perform all tasks with or without supervision. </li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 24.0px;line-height:107%;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Ability to perform other maintenance, housekeeping, painting and miscellaneous tasks as needed and or as directed by supervisor</li> </ul> QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS <div class="WordSection1"> <ul style="margin-top:6.0pt;margin-bottom:6.0pt"> <li style="margin:6.0pt 7.1pt 6.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:16.5pt;background-color:white;vertical-align:top;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Education: High school Diploma or equivalent. </li> <li style="margin:6.0pt 7.1pt 6.0pt 0.0px;text-align:justify;line-height:16.5pt;background-color:white;vertical-align:top;font-size:11.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Experience: On the job training will be provided.Other combinations of experience and education that meet requirements may be substituted. </li> </ul> </div> All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
