This role partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and Project Teams to ensure quality compliance from <strong>fabrication start through final delivery</strong>.</p> <p>This is a <strong>hands-on, industrial quality role</strong> focused on fabrication, welding processes, machining, and supplier manufacturing environments. The position emphasizes <strong>inspection planning, physical product verification, and supplier quality oversight</strong>, rather than software quality assurance or IT testing.</p> <p><strong>Note:</strong> This role is focused on <strong>physical product quality in industrial fabrication environments (welding, machining, and heavy equipment)</strong>. It does <strong>not involve software QA, IT testing, or QA automation.</strong></p> <hr> <h2><strong>Responsibilities</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Lead product and project <strong>quality execution for fabricated and welded mechanical equipment</strong></li> <li>Develop and implement <strong>Inspection &amp; Test Plans (ITPs)</strong> and quality monitoring strategies for fabrication and assembly processes</li> <li>Support <strong>fabrication shops and suppliers</strong> with welding quality expectations, inspection readiness, and process controls</li> <li>Partner with Engineering to translate <strong>drawings, specifications, and tolerances</strong> into executable quality and inspection plans</li> <li>Verify <strong>product conformance across fabrication stages</strong> (cutting, welding, machining, assembly)</li> <li>Lead root cause analysis, nonconformance resolution, and corrective/preventive actions</li> <li>Conduct and support <strong>supplier audits, qualification, and ongoing supplier quality oversight</strong></li> <li>Serve as a technical quality interface with internal teams and external customers</li> <li>Drive continuous improvement initiatives across <strong>fabrication, inspection, and supplier performance</strong></li> </ul> <hr> <h2><strong>Qualifications</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline (Master’s a plus)</li> <li>Minimum 5 years of experience in <strong>Manufacturing Quality, Project Quality, or Fabrication Quality roles</strong> within pulp &amp; paper, power, metals, chemical, or similar heavy industrial environments</li> <li><strong>Hands-on exposure to fabrication and welding environments</strong>, with practical familiarity with AWS welding standards (AWS D1-level awareness)</li> <li>Strong working knowledge of <strong>machining, surface preparation, and mechanical testing methods</strong></li> <li>Demonstrated ability to <strong>interpret engineering drawings/specifications and perform dimensional inspections</strong></li> <li>Experience verifying compliance across multiple stages of fabrication and assembly</li> <li>Experience supporting or participating in <strong>supplier audits and supplier quality oversight</strong> (preferred)</li> <li>Experience with <strong>failure analysis, nonconformance resolution, and root cause analysis (RCA)</strong> (preferred)</li> <li>Familiarity with <strong>pulp &amp; paper or heavy industrial equipment manufacturing</strong> is a plus</li> <li>Ability and willingness to travel internationally (occasional travel to Asia and Europe as required)</li> </ul> <hr> <h2><strong>Minimum Required Experience (Resume Must Demonstrate)</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Experience in <strong>fabrication, welding, or heavy industrial manufacturing environments</strong></li> <li>Quality experience tied to <strong>physical equipment and manufacturing processes</strong> (not software or IT systems)</li> <li>Direct involvement in <strong>inspection, fabrication quality, or supplier quality environments</strong></li> </ul> <hr> <h2><strong>Required Skills</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Working knowledge of <strong>fabrication, welding, and industrial shop environments</strong></li> <li>Ability to interpret <strong>mechanical drawings, specifications, and tolerances</strong></li> <li>Experience performing or supporting <strong>dimensional inspections and fabrication quality verification</strong></li> <li>Practical awareness of <strong>AWS welding standards (D1-level familiarity)</strong></li> <li>Experience supporting <strong>fabrication quality, inspection processes, or supplier quality activities</strong></li> </ul> <hr> <h2><strong>Preferred Skills</strong></h2> <ul> <li>Deeper application of <strong>AWS D1.1 / D1.6 and related welding codes</strong></li> <li>Experience with <strong>supplier audits, ITP development, and fabrication quality planning</strong></li> <li>Advanced welding inspection exposure (training and mentorship supported)</li> </ul> </div><p>All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.</p>
