As a Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in providing expert tax structuring, tax advisory, due diligence and other transaction support to a diverse range of clients, including private equity, large multinationals and managed funds across a broad range of sectors such as healthcare, real estate, infrastructure, technology, consumer and life sciences. You will also be at the forefront of addressing the international and domestic aspects of income tax and advising on critical income tax matters for corporates, trusts and partnerships. Working closely with your team and collaborating with other subservice lines and our global EY network, you will deliver exceptional client service by ensuring the provision of high-quality and timely solutions. Your key responsibilities <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Advising clients on domestic and international tax matters associated with all aspects of the M&A life cycle, including due diligence, structuring and other advisory engagements. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Preparing tax opinions and reports on a variety of domestic and international tax matters, including supply chains, fund structures, capital structures, and global reorganisations.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Project managing both clients and internal teams to ensure a multidisciplinary project is delivered seamlessly across specialties and geographies.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Building and maintaining client relationships by understanding and anticipating their needs and providing exceptional client service.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Providing support and guidance to junior team members, while staying up to date with tax law changes and industry trends.</li> </ul> Skills and attributes for success <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">At least 5 years’ experience in Australian tax consulting in a tax consulting, corporate or legal tax environment. While not essential, prior income tax compliance experience will be a plus. </li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Strong foundation in income tax and continuously learning through the research of tax legislation and case law.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Strong project management skills, including the ability to plan budgets, delivery timetables and coordinate input from other team members.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Ability to adapt and adopt technology solutions, including AI.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Ability to succinctly and clearly communicate complex tax concepts to clients in writing and verbally, including review of written work prepared by junior staff.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:10.0pt">Experience working in a team environment including managing a team of junior staff. </li> </ul> Ideally, you’ll also have the skills and attributes below but don’t worry if you don’t tick all the boxes.
