<div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Long Description</H2> </div><div><p><strong>General Characteristics and purpose</strong><br> Prepares and operates a computer numerical controlled (CNC) machine used in the production of parts. <br> Has knowledge on the operation of machine equipment and ensures that the machine works as programmed. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Representative Activities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Selects tools required to produce parts and prepares machines.</li> <li>Loads parts onto fixtures and performs machining operation.</li> <li>Checks finished part against blueprint, debugs and submits for approval.</li> <li>Operates assigned (CNC) machine, or may work a related group of (CNC) machines of similar complexity.</li> <li>Understands working properties of common metals, reads blueprints.</li> <li>Unload finished products from the machine.</li> <li>Maintain a clean, well-organized workstation.</li> <li>May perform minor adjustments to machine and operating procedures to maintain quality. </li> <li>Typically reports to a supervisor, team leader or superintendent within the production department.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Scope Variants</strong><br> <em>Complexity</em></p> <p>Operates a broad range of machines (up to 10), has multidiscipline experience. Can independently set up the installation of complex machines. May coach less experienced CNC operators</p> <p><br> <em>Quality control</em></p> <p>May be involved in troubleshooting, analysis and feedback to the production process with the goal to increase production quality</p> </div></div></div>
