This role will provide day-to-day support to the HR Business Partners.</p> <p> </p> <p>The role-holder will have core task responsibilities and ensure the provision of a professional and high-quality HR service. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Duties & Responsibilities</strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Provide first-line HR advice on policies, procedures and terms & conditions, escalating to HRBP where appropriate (e.g. family leave, flexible working, hybrid/overseas working).</li> <li>Manage employee lifecycle casework, including absence (short- and long-term), disciplinary, grievance and performance matters, in partnership with HRBP and ER Manager.</li> <li>Oversee long-term sickness cases, including PHI applications, sick pay administration, occupational health coordination and phased returns.</li> <li>Advise and support managers on absence management processes and related meetings.Manage flexible working and parental leave requests, with HRBP support.</li> <li>Manage flexible working and parental leave requests, with HRBP oversight.</li> <li>Support employee wellbeing, including mental health and reasonable adjustments, signposting to appropriate resources.</li> <li>Conduct employee check-ins (e.g. probation, secondment) and exit interviews; support associated outcomes (e.g. extensions, terminations).</li> <li>Maintain accurate HR records and oversee employee documentation, including ad hoc paperwork in collaboration with HR Services.</li> <li>Support compliance with regulatory and internal requirements (e.g. SRA, LSOS). </li> <li>Contribute to and support delivery of cyclical HR processes (e.g. talent mapping, career conversations, engagement surveys, salary review). </li> <li>Attend stakeholder meetings and provide relevant HR updates. </li> <li>Support organisational change activity (e.g. restructures, TUPE, redundancy programmes). </li> <li>Manage HR administration relating to visas/IR35, liaising with external providers as required. </li> <li>Deliver HR-related training and induction sessions. </li> <li>Contribute to HR projects and continuous improvement of HR processes and documentation. </li> <li>Use HR data and metrics to inform insights and support decision-making. </li> <li>Collaborate effectively across the HR team and wider business.</li> </ul> <p><br><strong>Capability, Experience and Qualifications </strong></p> <p> </p> <ul> <li>Previous experience in an HR administrative or advisory role.</li> <li>Graduate level or equivalent; further HR qualifications are desirable.</li> <li>Experience working in a professional services or corporate environment. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Behavioural Expectations</strong> </p> <p><br><span style="text-decoration:underline">Leading Self</span></p> <ul> <li>Prioritises effectively, balancing competing demands and adjusting plan so meet deadlines.</li> <li>Uses sound judgement, making decisions within remit and escalating appropriately.</li> <li>Maintains professionalism and discretion, handling sensitive information with care and integrity.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="text-decoration:underline">Expertise</span></p> <ul> <li>Applies knowledge of HR policies and procedures confidently, ensuring guidance is clear, consistent and appropriate to the situation.</li> <li>Uses data thoughtfully, identifying patterns or insights to inform discussions and decisions.</li> <li>Looks for opportunities to improve processes, suggesting practical, workable solutions.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="text-decoration:underline">Collaboration</span></p> <ul> <li>Communicates in a clear, concise and audience-appropriate way, ensuring understanding and engagement.</li> <li>Builds and maintains constructive working relationships, demonstrating reliability and respect.</li> <li>Actively collaborates with others, sharing information and contributing to collective outcomes.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><span style="text-decoration:underline">Advancing our business</span></p> <ul> <li>Responds to business needs in a timely and solutions-focused way, maintaining consistency in approach.</li> <li>Identifies opportunities to enhance service deliver, considering efficiency and stakeholder experience.</li> </ul> <p> </p><p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>Firm Profile</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">Across more than 80 countries, Dentons helps you grow, protect, operate and finance your organisation by providing uniquely global and deeply local legal solutions.
