</p> <p>The Datacom Field Operator reports to the Field Operations Supervisor and has the following objectives:</p> <p> </p> <ul type="disc"> <li>To prepare the daily schedule for regional Datacom activities in collaboration with the supervisor;</li> <li>To perform corrective and preventive maintenance on all Datacom technologies (optical fibre, copper cables, modems, telephony, PDH E1, SDH, Ethernet, IP, DWDM, etc.);</li> <li>To install and test Datacom technologies in accordance with current safety and quality procedures;</li> <li>To be involved in the evolution and expansion of the Datacom network, in order to guarantee a reliable and high-performance data communication network for applications in substations, service centres, dispatchings and data centers.</li> <p><strong>Your duties will be as follows</strong></p> <p><strong>Scheduling</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>To receive and follow up on various inputs for the schedules of various departments (Engineering, Asset Management and Datacom);</li> <li>To work with the expert to convert these inputs into a daily schedule and a schedule for contractors.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work preparation</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Prepare assignments, from a practical and technical point of view (gathering all necessary materials and information);</li> <li>Carefully analyse the impact on the operational Datacom network and communicate it to the relevant departments (Dispatching and Asset Management);</li> <li>Implement the necessary redundancy mechanisms to minimise risks and impact.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Work performance</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Coordinate and perform installation and maintenance work on all Datacom technologies;</li> <li>Check, inspect and deliver work performed by contractors;</li> <li>Test and commission Datacom systems;</li> <li>Implement and configure Datacom services via management systems in order to connect end systems.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Safety</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Be familiar with, apply and monitor the relevant safety rules, procedures and principles (for both individuals and the network).</li> </ul> <p><strong>Evolution & innovation</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Actively contribute to the evolution of the Datacom subnetwork;</li> <li>Be involved in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies;</li> <li>Help introduce new working methods;</li> <li>Formulate and implement improvement proposals;</li> <li>Continuously keep your technical knowledge up to date given the rapid developments within IT/Datacom.</li> </ul> <p><strong>Documentation & reporting</strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Arrange the correct documentation (plans, systems, administration, etc.);</li> style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Your Profile</b></H2> </div><div><p> </p> <ul type="disc"> <li>You have a Bachelor's degree in electronics, ICT or telecommunications or have relevant technical experience;</li> <li>You have the following competencies: <ul type="circle"> <li>An in-depth knowledge of Datacom technologies (optical fibre, copper cables, modems, telephony, PDH E1, SDH, Ethernet and IP);</li> <li>Strong organisational and planning skills;</li> <li>Good communication skills;</li> <li>An eagerness to learn and a strong development-oriented mindset;</li> <li>The ability to work independently and take responsibility;</li> <li>A strong sense of responsibility and good risk insight;</li> <li>Customer focus and the ability to cope with stress.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Languages:</strong> <ul type="circle"> <li>You are a native Dutch speaker and will preferably have a good knowledge of French or be willing to learn French;</li> <li>You are able to read and understand technical documentation in English and are potentially willing to develop your skills further in this respect.</li> </ul> </li> <li><strong>Additional requirements:</strong> <ul type="circle"> <li>You are willing to do the certification programme for offshore work;</li> <li>You are willing to perform both onshore and offshore activities in line with project requirements.</li>
