Join Elia’s <strong>Secondary Systems – Settings &amp; Software Interfaces</strong> team and play an active role in the security, stability and development of Belgium’s high-voltage grid.<br><br></p> <p>At the heart of the energy transition, you will play a key role in configuring and optimising the protection systems that ensure the country’s continuous power supply every day.<br><br></p> <p><strong>Your role<br><br></strong></p> <p>As part of a team of passionate experts, you will be responsible for calculating, documenting and monitoring the settings of the protection systems used on the Elia grid.</p> <p>In a constantly evolving technical environment, you will help tackle the challenges associated with grid modernisation, the integration of new technologies and maintaining the performance of existing installations.<br><br></p> <p><strong>Specifically, you will be required to:<br><br></strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>Define and calculate protection settings for high-voltage grid installations.</li> <li>Carry out selectivity studies and contribute to the continuous improvement of protections coordination.</li> <li>Participate in the analysis of technical incidents and propose the necessary corrective actions.</li> <li>Monitor the implementation of settings in the field in collaboration with the maintenance and commissioning teams.</li> <li>Develop settings related to the connection of new customers and ensure their optimal integration into the grid</li> <li>Produce clear, high-quality technical documentation to ensure the long-term retention of knowledge.</li> <li>Work with a wide range of in-house experts (Engineering, Asset Management, Asset Operations, GD &amp; NetOp, etc.) on strategic projects for the future of the grid</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>What makes this role unique<br><br></strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>A direct impact on the safety and stability of the national electricity grid.</li> <li>A variety of technical challenges combining protection, selectivity, grid analysis and new technologies.</li> <li>Daily collaboration with recognised experts in their field.</li> <li>A role that combines technical studies, fieldwork and continuous improvement.</li> <li>The opportunity to actively contribute to the energy transition and the development of the grids of the future.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:20.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Your Profile</b></H2> </div><div><p> </p> <p>You are a meticulous, inquisitive person with a passion for electrical systems.<br><br></p> <p><strong>Ideally, you will have:<br><br></strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li>A minimum 5 years of experience in the field of electrical protection, commissioning or similar activities.</li> <li>A bachelor’s degree or technical qualification in electricity, electronics or electromechanics.</li> <li>Knowledge of protection systems and associated software (Digsi, MiCOM Agile, ASR or equivalent) would be an advantage.</li> <li>Excellent analytical skills and a genuine interest in solving complex technical problems.</li> <li>A collaborative approach, whilst being able to work independently.</li> <li>A strong sense of responsibility and safety awareness.</li> <li>Proficiency in MS Office tools.</li> <li>Proficiency in at least one of the national languages (French or Dutch) as a native language, with willingness to learn the other; English is a plus</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:20.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Offer</b></H2> </div><div><p> </p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li><strong>Salary</strong>: a competitive salary package, year-end bonus, double vacation pay, meal vouchers (€10 per working day) and a bonus based on group results. </li> <li><strong>Insurance</strong>: group insurance, hospitalisation insurance and ambulant care for the whole family. </li> <li><strong>Vacation</strong>: you will be entitled to 20 vacation days and 13 additional vacation days. </li> <li><strong>Social fund</strong>: Year-end vouchers, birth and marriage allowance.
