This role is key for managing distributors, smaller OEMs, onsite prototype projects, and/or current engine platform projects. </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Essential Duties and Responsibilities</strong></p> <p>The Application Engineer will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties: </p> <ul> <li>Analysis of customer requirements and development of customer specific system solutions. </li> <li>Clarification of content, planning, alignment, adequate documentation, evaluation, and approval of customer projects including conducting the application installation reviews of the engine and exhaust after treatment system. </li> <li>Alignment on installation sign-off documentation with DEUTZ headquarter in Germany. </li> <li>Verification and Validation (V&V) during value-add project development: </li> <li>Development of V&V Plans, performing measurements related to V&V and monitoring validation at customer. </li> <li>Assisting during improvements related to engineering laboratory, test bench, telemetry, and other measurement duties. </li> <li>Work closely with design engineering to review project designs and ensure customer needs are met during the development process. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Other Qualifications</strong></p> <ul> <li>Review, align, and present possible new projects to the business team to determine viability and status. </li> <li>Help determine market needs and oversee new product introduction along with alignment with Deutz headquarters in Germany on new engine platforms in development. </li> <li>Frequent communication with sales to field requests to product changes or additions. </li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Supervisory Responsibility</strong></p> <ul> <li>Individual Contributor</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Travel Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>Anticipate domestic travel of 0 - 40%</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Minimum Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>BS Engineering Degree (Mechanical or Electrical) </li> <li>Speaking English Fluently </li> <li>5+ years of development or application experience around compression ignition (CI) or spark ignition (SI) engines, off-road equipment, or On-highway vehicles. </li> <li>Communication skills in writing and dialogue must be advanced; individual's interpersonal style must be suited for collaboration within small and large group settings </li> <li>Must be able to travel domestically and internationally by all transportation modes for business </li> <li>Proficient in 3D Analysis </li> <li>Knowledge of CAN Bus communication J1939 protocol </li> <li>Familiar with engine service diagnostic tools </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Preferred Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li>German Speaking </li> <li>SI Engine Experience </li> <li>Engine and Transmission Application Interface Experience </li> <li>Calibration or INCA Experience </li> <li>Knowledge of Pump Applications </li> <li>Experience with HMI </li> <li>Hybrid and/or EV Experience </li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer</li> <li>Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time.</li> </ul> <p style="text-align:justify"> </p> <p style="text-align:justify"> </p> <div class="entry"> <div id="democontainer"> <p style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-size:14.0px"><strong>EEO Statement </strong><br>DEUTZ is an equal opportunity employer and considers all applicants for employment based on merit, competence, performance, and business needs.
