You must possess strong technical expertise and be deeply familiar with public clouds (AWS, Azure) to effectively drive cost optimization initiatives.</span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">This role requires leading efforts to adopt the latest AWS strategies for cost savings. The cost-saving initiatives must be cloud-agnostic, capable of identifying optimization opportunities, distinguishing critical from non-critical workloads and providing recommendations to expedite savings.</span></span></p> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Key Responsibilities</H2> </div><div><ul> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Analyze Cloud Spending:</b> Continuously monitor and analyze AWS cloud costs to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for cost savings.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Cost Optimization Strategies:</b> Develop and implement strategies to optimize AWS cloud costs, including rightsizing resources, leveraging reserved instances, savings plans, and eliminating unused resources.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Resource Management:</b> Review and manage AWS resources to ensure efficient utilization while aligning with organizational needs and cost objectives.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Pricing Model Analysis:</b> Evaluate and recommend suitable AWS pricing models (e.g., on-demand, spot instances, reserved instances) based on workload requirements and cost-efficiency considerations.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Reporting:</b> Generate detailed cost reports and forecasts, offering actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Cost Governance:</b> Define, establish, and enforce policies and best practices for cloud cost management across the organization.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Performance KPIs:</b> Define cloud cost performance KPIs and ensure regular tracking and reporting against agreed benchmarks.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Tool Implementation:</b> Configure and utilize AWS tools and third-party solutions such as AWS Cost Explorer, Trusted Advisor, and cloud management platforms for effective cost management.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Collaboration:</b> Build strong working relationships with application owners, Finance, and other teams to understand cloud usage patterns and develop cost-effective solutions. Proactively engage with IS and business communities as a visible ambassador of IT initiatives.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b>Continuous Improvement:</b> Stay current with the latest AWS features, cost management tools, and industry best practices to enhance cost optimization strategies continuously.</span></span></li> </ul> <p> </p> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Qualifications</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">10+ years of experience with one/more public/private cloud platforms (e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.). </span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Experience with capacity forecasting, cloud cost optimization techniques, financial reporting, and workflow management in a large service operations environment. Familiarity with monitoring and reporting tools/APIs. </span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Understanding of cloud providers, platforms and configurations and familiarity with workload usage/consumption patterns on cloud. </span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Good understanding of billing on cloud platforms (incl. impact of usage patterns on TCO) </span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Ability to develop effective reporting schemes/metrics to maintain strong control on usage and billing of cloud services. </span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders (across IS, finance, business functions) and proactively identify opportunities for service improvement. </span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Demonstrated skills in working across multi-functional teams to bring increased business value through seeing the bigger picture, collaboration and alignment of diverse needs </span></span></p> </li> <li> <p><span style="font-size:14.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">AWS Certified Solutions Architect certification preferred </span></span></p> </li> </ul> </div></div></div>
