This pivotal role demands dynamic leadership and in-depth expertise in robotics and unmanned systems technology, specifically focused on steering the defence sector business to robust growth and market presence.</span></p> <h3> </h3> <h3><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Key Responsibilities</span></h3> <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Lead and manage the Robotics Unit with full P&L and revenue accountability, ensuring business objectives and financial targets are met within the defence market segment.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Drive the development, solutioning, and management of defence robotics business opportunities, catering to local and international customers through strategic engagement and innovation.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Champion the pursuit and management of tender and contract bids, including the end-to-end coordination and evaluation processes aligned with customer requirements and company goals.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Plan and coordinate resource allocation effectively within cross-functional teams to optimise productivity, project delivery, and client satisfaction.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Analyse and interpret current and emergent robotics, automation, and unmanned system technology trends to inform strategic direction and research focus in alignment with market demands and customer needs.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Formulate comprehensive market engagement plans and winning strategies for robotics and unmanned systems to enhance competitive positioning and business expansion.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Identify and address customer pain points through collaboration across departments, contributing to innovative product development and enhanced solution offerings.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Manage the allocated Business Development budget judiciously, ensuring optimal use of resources to maximise return on investment and strategic outcomes.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Demonstrate commitment to business growth by being available to travel overseas as required, fostering strong client relations and partnerships globally.</span></li> </ul> <h3> </h3> <h3><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Candidate Requirements</span></h3> <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Hold a degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechanical Engineering; candidates with equivalent qualifications in related fields will be considered.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Bring at least 10 years of substantive experience within commercial and/or military robotics systems, with a proven track record of P&L responsibility and successful revenue generation.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Possess hands-on or comprehensive knowledge of robotics, unmanned technologies, or autonomation, contributing practical insights to business strategy and technology development.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Exhibit excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in English both written and spoken; knowledge of additional languages is advantageous.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Showcase capability in strategic planning, risk management, and crafting compelling business plans that effectively articulate value propositions to diverse stakeholders.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Preferably, be familiar with the local defence ecosystem, enabling prompt and effective navigation of regulatory and partnership landscapes.</span></li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt"><span style="font-size:12.0pt">Demonstrate awareness or experience in sustainable energy industries, which will be considered an asset in informing innovative and responsible business practices.</span></li> </ul> <h3> </h3> <h3><span style="font-size:12.0pt">The Opportunity</span></h3> <p><span style="font-size:12.0pt">This role offers a unique opportunity to impact the future of robotics in the defence sector by combining technological innovation with strategic business leadership.
