The role involves working on instrumentation for data acquisition and on cloud systems for data transfer, storage, and analytics. The engineer should have a solid foundation in electrical engineering, with practical experience in wiring and familiarity with PLC or SCADA systems. Guidance and training will be provided to support project execution and technical development.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Responsibilities</b></H2> </div><div><p style="text-align:justify"> </p> <p>The duties and responsibilities of the Senior / Executive Engineer (Condition Monitoring) are as follows. This list is not exhaustive, and related tasks may be assigned as required.</p> <ul> <li>Understand the general operating mechanisms and monitored failure modes of the rail assets.</li> <li>Apply electrical and electronics knowledge in instrumentation setup, testing, and commissioning.</li> <li>Perform hands-on work, including cable routing, cabling termination, instrumentation setup, and on-site supervision.</li> <li>Install, configure, and maintain IoT edge devices and sensors for data acquisition from rail assets.</li> <li>Prepare and maintain as-built electrical and instrumentation schematic drawings for project documentation.</li> <li>Prepare method statements and risk assessments for installation and commissioning works.</li> <li>Support integration of IoT edge data with centralized systems; opportunities to develop data pipelines or cloud interfaces can be provided based on interest and candidate progression.</li> <li>Conduct basic data validation and visualization to verify data integrity and system performance.</li> <li>Collaborate with internal teams and end-users to gather feedback and improve monitoring systems.</li> <li>Participate in on-site work during engineering hours (night) as part of project implementation, testing, and commissioning.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Qualifications & Work Experience</b></H2> </div><div><p style="text-align:justify"> </p> <ul> <li style="text-align:justify">Diploma or Degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or a related STEM field</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Strong understanding of electrical circuits and practical application of electrical and electronic principles.</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Hands-on technical skills in cabling, cable routing, termination, and instrumentation setup.</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Ability to interpret and produce electrical and instrumentation schematic drawings, including as-built documentation using CAD software.</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Experience or familiarity with IoT devices, sensors, or PLC/SCADA systems is advantageous.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Skills</b></H2> </div><div><p style="text-align:justify"> </p> <p>Expectations and technical skills include:</p> <ul> <li style="text-align:justify">Basic knowledge and formal training in electrical circuits and fundamentals.</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Working understanding in electrical, electronics and power principles, circuit theory.</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Hands-on experience with electrical testing equipment, measurement tools, and techniques.</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Proficient in using CAD software for electrical schematic drawings.</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Willing to learn and passionate about programming and instrumentation.</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Have exposure to a high-level programming language e.g., Python or MATLAB, for data analysis and verification is a plus.</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Optional: Experience with SQL, NoSQL databases, Microsoft Azure cloud services (IoT Hub and Azure Sphere).</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p>General skills include:</p> <ul> <li style="text-align:justify">Strong inclination and eager for continual learning and development</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Ability to work in a team</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Critical thinking and problem-solving skills</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Ability to think independently and actively propose solutions to the team.</li> </ul></div></div></div>
