.About the role Are you ready to take the next step in your underground mining career? We’re looking for a capable and driven Underground Leading Hand to act as the 2IC to our Shift Supervisors at Mungari. This is a frontline leadership role designed to support daily underground operations while building toward statutory competence as a future Underground Shift Supervisor. You’ll be the Supervisor’s right-hand underground, ensuring safe and productive shift execution, maintaining continuity of supervision, and leading by example. If you hold a WA Shift Supervisor Ticket (or are actively working toward it), this is your opportunity to grow into a formal leadership role. What You’ll Be Doing: <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Support safe execution of the 24-hour plan and escalate hazards or delays, while reinforcing hazard awareness and safe behaviours across the crew.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Act as the Supervisor’s delegate underground when required, and assist with statutory inspections, shift paperwork, and variance reporting.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Support the Senior Shift Supervisor in managing underground production and development activities, including drilling, blasting, and bogging.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Lead by example in safety, conduct inspections, and promote a strong safety culture.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Provide guidance and support to operators, particularly in jumbo and long hole operations.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Run one full Supervisor cycle per week under guidance to build competence.</li> </ul> About You: You’re a respected underground operator with a strong safety mindset and a readiness to step into leadership. You’ve got the technical skills, the drive to mentor others, and the confidence to lead underground operations when needed. To be successful, You’ll need: <ul> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">WA Underground Shift Supervisor Certificate of Competency </li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Significant underground mining experience in production or development roles.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Proven leadership capability as a Leading Hand, Charge-Up, Bogger, or Jumbo Operator.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Strong knowledge of underground mining methods, safety systems, and statutory requirements.</li> <li style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:'Times New Roman', serif">Demonstrated experience upholding values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, and Respect.</li> </ul> This roster is 7:7 and a 12 hour day.
