.About the role We are looking for a Core Yard Technician who will provide field support to the Mungari Resource Development, Open Pit and Underground Geology teams, located 25km from central Kalgoorlie. This varied role is a fantastic opportunity for someone entering the mining industry who can quickly learn the technical skills but already has the personal abilities to deliver the below responsibilities. <ul style="margin-top:0.0cm;margin-bottom:0.0cm" type="disc"> <li style="margin-bottom:4.0pt;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Collect geological samples from suitable sites, in either the field or open pit environment as directed, mark samples, note locations and dispatch to laboratory as appropriate</li> <li style="margin-bottom:4.0pt;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Prepare site appropriately, including field set up, gridding, clearing, supervision of sump digging, track clearing, drill pad setup and building of causeways</li> <li style="margin-bottom:4.0pt;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Collect drilling samples as directed, split as required and dispatch to laboratory</li> <li style="margin-bottom:4.0pt;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Complete marking up of core, geotechnical logging, and specific gravity determinations</li> <li style="margin-bottom:4.0pt;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Monitor field equipment and vehicles and arrange servicing or repairs as required</li> <li style="margin-bottom:4.0pt;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Complete site rehabilitation duties, including supervision of contractors, filling in sumps, ripping compacted areas, and collar cutting and plugging</li> <li style="margin-bottom:4.0pt;margin-top:0.0cm;margin-right:0.0cm;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:Calibri, sans-serif">Encourage, participate and assist to implement continuous improvement in all work-related activities.</li> </ul> This position will only be offered to those who reside locally to Kalgoorlie or are willing to permanently relocate.
