<p><strong>Baker</strong></p> <p><strong>Location</strong>: Franz Josef, New Zealand</p> <p><strong>Employment Type</strong>: Full-time, Permanent</p> <p><strong>Hours</strong>: Minimum 30 hours per week</p> <p><strong>Salary</strong>: Minimum annual salary of NZD $55,000, equivalent to at least NZD $35.26 per hour</p> <p></p> <p><strong>About the Role</strong></p> <p>We are seeking an experienced Baker to join our supermarket bakery team. This is a full-time position for a skilled and reliable individual who can produce high-quality baked goods while maintaining excellent food safety and production standards.</p> <p></p> <p><strong>Key Tasks and Responsibilities</strong></p> <ul> <li>Prepare, mix, knead, shape, proof, bake, and finish a variety of bread, rolls, pastries, cakes, and other bakery products. </li> <li>Follow recipes and production schedules to ensure consistent quality and availability of bakery products. </li> <li>Monitor baking times, temperatures, and product quality throughout the production process. </li> <li>Decorate and present bakery items to supermarket standards. </li> <li>Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health and safety requirements. </li> <li>Operate, clean, and maintain bakery equipment and work areas. </li> <li>Manage stock rotation and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies. </li> <li>Minimise waste and maintain efficient production practices. </li> <li>Monitor product freshness and quality and remove unsuitable products from sale. </li> <li>Work collaboratively with supermarket management and team members to meet customer demand and production targets. </li> <li>Assist with training junior bakery staff when required. </li> <li>Provide excellent customer service when interacting with customers. </li> </ul> <p></p> <p><strong>Skills and Experience Required</strong></p> <p><strong>Essential Requirements</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>At least 2 years of supermarket bakery experience. </strong></li> <li>Proven experience producing a wide range of bakery products in a commercial bakery or supermarket environment. </li> <li>Sound knowledge of baking techniques, ingredients, and food safety practices. </li> <li>Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines. </li> <li>Good communication and teamwork skills. </li> <li>Physically fit and capable of standing for extended periods and lifting bakery ingredients and products as required. </li> </ul> <p></p> <p><strong>What We Offer</strong></p> <ul> <li>Competitive remuneration with a minimum salary of NZD $55,000 per year (minimum NZD $35.26 per hour). </li> <li>Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week. </li> <li>Stable, full-time employment. </li> <li>Supportive team environment. </li> <li>Opportunities for ongoing development and training. </li> </ul> <p>To apply, please submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant supermarket bakery experience [email protected]</p>
