We are excited about the opportunity to work with you and glad you want to be part of a team of talented individuals who together are changing the way the world communicates.</p> <p>Requisition ID: 77780 </p><div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Description</b></H2> </div><div><p><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Skyworks is seeking a <strong>highly skilled Engineering Technician</strong> to support the development, characterization, burn in, and qualification of high reliability optocoupler and RFIC products used in space, aerospace, and military semiconductor applications. </span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">In this role, you will work hands on with microcircuits and semiconductor devices, performing electrical, visual, environmental, and burn in testing—including HTOL, HTRB, steady state life, accelerated stress, and temperature cycling—to ensure compliance with stringent MIL STD and space grade requirements. </span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">You will execute test plans, perform isolation and reliability testing, assist in root cause analysis, and support the design and checkout of specialized test fixtures and optical setups. Daily activities include working from schematics, assembly diagrams, lot travelers, process specifications, and SOPs to assemble, troubleshoot, and validate semiconductor hardware with full traceability. </span><br><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">This position requires strong proficiency with lab instrumentation—including oscilloscopes, DMMs, curve tracers, SMUs, power supplies, and optical measurement tools—as well as soldering skills. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, quality driven, and comfortable working within aerospace/defense standards and documentation practices.</span></p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Responsibilities</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Support the design, testing, and assembly of optocoupler and RFIC devices for space and military microcircuit applications.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Perform burn in and reliability testing, including HTOL, HTRB, steady state life, accelerated stress testing, temperature cycling, and environmental stress screening.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Conduct temperature testing, thermal characterization, and environmental evaluations to validate device reliability. </span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Perform operational testing and assist in root cause analysis of electrical, optical, and mechanical issues.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Apply MIL PRF 38534, MIL STD 883, MIL PRF 19500, MIL STD 750, and other high reliability screening and qualification standards.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Work from schematics, assembly diagrams, lot travelers, process specifications, and SOPs to execute test and assembly tasks with full traceabillity. </span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Use oscilloscopes, DMMs, curve tracers, SMUs, power supplies, signal generators, and optical measurement equipment.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Support the design, construction, and checkout of specialized test fixtures, and automated test systems.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Maintain accurate documentation of test results, environmental and burn in data, device configurations, and traveler updates.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Ensure compliance with aerospace/defense quality standards, ESD controls, and safety protocols.</span></li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Required Experience and Skills</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Associates degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related technical field; or equivalent military/industry experience.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">3+ years of hands on experience in semiconductor, microcircuit, optoelectronic, or high reliability electronics testing.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Strong proficiency with lab equipment: oscilloscopes, DMMs, curve tracers, SMUs, power supplies, and signal generators.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Experience with burn in testing (HTOL, HTRB, life testing), temperature testing, environmental stress screening, or device characterization.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly diagrams, lot travelers, process specs, and SOPs.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Skilled in soldering as part of troubleshooting and hardware rework.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Familiarity with MIL PRF 38534, MIL STD 883, MIL STD 750, MIL PRF 19500, or similar aerospace/defense standards.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Strong documentation skills and attention to detail for traceability and quality compliance.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Ability to work in an ESD controlled lab environment.</span></li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Desired Experience and Skills</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Experience with optocouplers, optical isolation devices, optoelectronic components, and RF products.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Background in space grade or military grade semiconductor manufacturing, screening, or qualification testing.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Experience with automated test systems or data acquisition software.</span></li> <li style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">Knowledge of radiation tolerant device testing or space environment characterization.</span></li> </ul> <p style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif"><span style="font-family:verdana, geneva, sans-serif">#LI-SJ1</span></p></div></div></div><p>The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD $29.86 - $52.02 per hour. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location.
