About this role
Hours: 35 hours a week
Arcadia is a family philanthropy that works to conserve and restore nature, record cultural heritage and promote open access to knowledge. You will support our Nature grant-making by managing a portfolio of around ten high profile grants with a total value of around $50m. There will be some opportunities to develop proposals for new grants and renewals under the guidance of the Director of Nature.
You must:
have conducted and communicated academically-rigorous independent research, ideally through a higher research degree or equivalent experience; have experience of analysing and summarising quantitative and qualitative data and applying critical thinking; have knowledge of either large-scale conservation and habitat restoration outside the UK, marine conservation or conservation planning; be good at managing multiple tasks and balancing short-term and long-term objectives; be able to present and write clearly and concisely for different audiences; be comfortable advising senior decision-makers and responding to their questions; have experience of living and working outside the UK; be fluent in English and preferably at least one other language; and have the right to work in the UK.
We encourage applications from people with an academic background in the humanities (especially history of science or historical geography). Previous grant-making experience is not required.
