They are responsible for implementing algorithms for state-of-charge (SOC) and state-of-health (SOH) estimation, ensuring thermal safety, and ensuring compliance with standards like ISO 26262. Key skills include embedded C/C++ programming, CAN/LIN communication, and hardware design. </p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><u><b>Key Job Responsibilities</b></u></H2> </div><div><div> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li><strong>System Design & Development: </strong>Design BMS hardware, including sensor interfaces, protection circuits, and communication protocols (CAN/LIN). </li> <li><strong>Algorithm Development:</strong> Develop algorithms to estimate state-of-charge (SOC), state-of-health (SOH), and manage cell balancing.</li> <li><strong>Testing & Validation:</strong> Perform hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing, software validation, and system integration testing.</li> <li><strong>Safety & Compliance: </strong>Ensure battery packs meet safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262), including overcharge/over-temperature protection.</li> <li><strong>Collaboration: </strong>Work with mechanical, electrical, and thermal engineers to optimize pack performance. </li> </ul> </div></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><u><b>Qualifications/Requirements</b></u></H2> </div><div><ul> <li><strong>Education:</strong> Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or similar fields. </li> <li><strong>Technical Skills:</strong> Proficiency in C/C++ for embedded systems, MATLAB/Simulink for simulation, and PCB design, and object-oriented programming (OOP)</li> <li><strong>Experience: </strong>4–8 years of experience in BMS development or related automotive/power electronics fields.</li> <li><strong>Knowledge: </strong>Strong understanding of Lithium-ion cell behavior, power electronics, and data analysis. <ul> <li>Experience with thermal system design,</li> <li>Experience in design, development, testing, and integration of battery and battery management systems into mobile applications. </li> <li>Experience with rectifiers, inverters, power control systems, and chargers. </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p> </p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><u><b>Additional Information</b></u></H2> </div><div></div></div></div><p> </p> <p><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><u><strong>Hiring Range </strong></u></span></p> <p><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $110,000 - $135,000.
