The partnership between Teck and NANA ensures real benefits for the local Iñupiat community, while recognizing there is still more to do as we advance our commitment to sustainable practices and meaningful engagement.</p> <p> </p><div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Role Overview</b></H2> </div><div><p>Teck Alaska Incorporated, Red Dog Operations, one of the world&apos;s largest producers of zinc concentrate, is recruiting for a Community Reporter. The Community Reporter is responsible for providing field observation support to the Red Dog Mine Aŋarraaq and Aktiġiruq Extension Project.</p> <p><br><strong>The incumbents will be hired out of Noatak and Kivalina. </strong></p> <p><br>Rotation schedule will be 2 weeks on-site with 2 weeks off-site</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Key Responsibilities</b></H2> </div><div><p>• Fully embrace Teck’s core values, which is demonstrated by attending and actively participating in daily safety meetings <br>• Participating in safety inductions and inspections<br>• Driving or riding in a light vehicle to various observation opportunities<br>• Observing and reporting on the presence of caribou and other wildlife in visible range of project activities<br>• Observing and assisting with activities related to exploration, which can include soil sampling, environmental monitoring, geophysics, drilling, and reclamation<br>• Observing operations of the Red Dog Mine as directed<br>• Documentation of field observations in written Daily Observation Reports<br>• Observing and assisting with the collection of water samples and supporting Teck staff with the ongoing monitoring of water intake locations for the protection of fish habitat<br>• Sharing knowledge and information about traditional land use and importance of subsistence living in the area<br>• Communicating learnings and observations of field exploration activities with community members, IRA Councils and City Council<br>• Participating and completing trainings in various workplace tasks</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Qualifications</b></H2> </div><div><p>• High School Diploma or Equivalent <br>• Driver’s license preferred<br>• Interest in learning about the mineral exploration process<br>• Ability to travel to Teck’s exploration site and commit to a rotation schedule (2 week on site, 2 weeks off site) <br>• Interest in communicating learnings and observations about project activities with Teck staff, community members, City Council, and IRA Councils </p></div></div></div><p> </p> <p><strong>Working Conditions:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>Access:</strong> Fly in, fly out</li> <li>Schedule: We offer a two-weeks on / two-weeks off rotational schedule to support a healthy work-life balance.</li> <li><strong>Accommodation:</strong> Our modern facilities, including dedicated spaces for group and individual physical activities, weights, cardio equipment, movie rooms, theme nights, and modern accommodation complexes.
