The copper processing facilities currently consist of a solvent extraction/electrowinning operation with an annual maximum capacity of approximately 100 million pounds of copper. </p> <p> </p> <p>The community of Silver City boasts various restaurants, arts, entertainment, cliff dwellings, festivals and much more. Visit <a href="https://www.visitsilvercity.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Silver City</a> to learn more. </p><div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What You Will Do</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Install, operates, and maintains environmental and emission monitoring instruments and testing equipment; analyzes data for compliance with regulatory requirements. </li> <li>Evaluate and assesses environmental risk and develops programs for risk reduction. </li> <li>Collaborate in recommending appropriate action to management in compliance with regulations. </li> <li>Review and/or prepares and maintains detailed records and files of environmental data and communications. </li> <li>Evaluate and administers contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment. </li> <li>Maintain basic working knowledge of national, regional and local environmental, occupational health, and other applicable regulations. </li> <li>Maintain knowledge of site environmental policies and procedures </li> <li>May provide leadership to less experienced Engineers and Technicians </li> <li>May serve as Project Manager or technical expert on small to medium-sized environmental projects (e.g., compliance, remediation, or reclamation) </li> <li>Lead or participate in regular audits and inspections of operations areas for purposes of ensuring compliance with site environmental policies, procedures and requirements of the Environmental Management System </li> <li>Coordinate the timely recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets in compliance with applicable legal and other requirements. </li> <li>Track and reports the recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets as directed. </li> <li>Perform other duties as assigned. </li> </ul> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What You Bring To Freeport</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Environmental Scientist II: <ul> <li>Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Earth Science or related natural science (such as Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Hydrology, Forestry, Agriculture, Meteorology, Environmental/Natural Resource Management) or Mathematics/Computer Science including Accounting and Finance, or, Business Management or other Bachelor’s degree, and at least three (3) years environmental or related experience, OR </li> <li>Master’s degree in a related field and at least one (1) year environmental or related experience. </li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p><b>OR </b></p> <ul> <li>Environmental Engineer II: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Agricultural, Mining, Metallurgical, Geological or similar) and at least three (3) years environmental or related experience, OR </li> <li>Master’s degree in Engineering in a related field and at least one (1) year environmental or related experience. </li> </ul> </li> <li>Applies to both positions above: <ul> <li>Additional certification or licensure appropriate to the job may be required or preferred: (US Examples include: HAZWOPER, Method 9, DOT, EMS Auditor, Asbestos, Water Treatment Operator, or CHMM.) </li> </ul> </li> </ul> </div></div></div><p><strong>What We Offer You </strong></p> <p> The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently <strong>$87,500-$120,000.</strong> This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
