The copper processing facilities currently consist of a solvent extraction/electrowinning operation with an annual maximum capacity of approximately 100 million pounds of copper. </p> <p> </p> <p>The community of Silver City boasts various restaurants, arts, entertainment, cliff dwellings, festivals and much more. Visit <a href="https://www.visitsilvercity.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Silver City</a> to learn more. </p><div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What You Will Do</b></H2> </div><div><p>Under close supervision, assists in providing technical support and guidance for environmental projects and programs at assigned site.</p> <ul> <li>Assists in installation, operation, and maintenance of environmental monitoring instruments and testing equipment</li> <li>Analyzes data for compliance with regulatory requirements</li> <li>Evaluates and assesses environmental risk and assists in developing programs for risk reduction</li> <li>Participates in regular audits and inspections of operations areas for purposes of ensuring compliance with regulatory programs, site environmental policies, procedures and requirements of the Environmental Management System</li> <li>Collaborates in recommending appropriate action to management in compliance with regulations</li> <li>Prepares and maintains detailed records and files of environmental data and communications</li> <li>Develops and maintains basic working knowledge of national, regional, and local environmental occupation health and other applicable regulations</li> <li>Develops a basic knowledge of site environmental policies and procedures</li> <li>Coordinates the timely recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets in compliance with applicable legal and other requirements</li> <li>Tracks and reports the recycling and disposition of materials and other company assets as directed</li> <li>May provide leadership to technicians as assigned</li> <li>Performs other duties as assigned</li> </ul> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What You Bring To Freeport</b></H2> </div><div><p>Minimum Requirements:</p> <ul> <li>Environmental Scientist I: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Technology, Earth Science or related Natural Science (such as Biology, Chemistry, Geology, Hydrology, Forestry, Agriculture, Meteorology, Environmental/Natural Resource Management), or Mathematics/Computer Science including Accounting and Finance, Business Management or other Bachelor's degree</li> </ul> </li> </ul> <p>OR</p> <ul> <li>Environmental Engineer I: <ul> <li>Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Environmental, Civil, Chemical, Agricultural, Mining, Metallurgical, Geological or similar)</li> </ul> </li> <li>Applies to both positions above: <ul> <li>Additional certification or licensure appropriate to the job may be required or preferred (US examples include: HAZWOPER, Method 9, DOT, EMS Auditor, Asbestos, Water Treatment Operator, or CHMM)</li> </ul> </li> </ul></div></div></div><p><strong>What We Offer You </strong></p> <p> The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently <strong>$75,000-$104,000.</strong> This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
