The historic Chino mine was among the world's first low-grade, open-pit copper mines. Today, the operation consists of a 36,000-metric-ton-per-day concentrator that produces copper and a 150-million-pound-per-year solvent extraction/electrowinning plant that produces copper cathode from solution generated by run-of-mine leaching. </p> <p>The community of Silver City boasts various restaurants, arts, entertainment, cliff dwellings, festivals and much more. Visit <a href="https://www.visitsilvercity.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Silver City</a><a href="https://www.visitsilvercity.org/"> </a>to learn more. </p><div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What You Will Do</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Ensure continued operations of production shifts through execution of the production plan and schedules.</li> <li>Provide Operations input for production and maintenance planning.</li> <li>Ensure adherence to correct safety and operating procedures and compliance with appropriated federal and state laws and regulations.</li> <li>Inspect assigned work units to ensure schedules and objectives are attained.</li> <li>Coordinate daily with other Operational and staff areas, including but not limited to Maintenance, Processing, Engineering, Safety, Environmental, and Sales</li> <li>Directly supervise first-line or shift Supervisors.</li> <li>Perform other duties as required.</li> </ul> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What You Bring To Freeport</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li>High School diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience, OR</li> <li>Bachelor's degree in a technical mining related discipline and three (3) years of operational experience, including supervisory or lead experience.</li> <li>Additional certifications or licensure appropriate to the job may be required.</li> <li>Knowledge of supervisory methods and techniques</li> <li>Skilled in resolving day-to-day questions/problems regarding equipment, materials, methods and procedures needed to complete projects.</li> <li>Skilled in budget preparation, monitoring and administration.</li> <li>Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.</li> <li>Skilled in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.</li> <li>Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.</li> </ul> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:14.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Preferred Qualifications</b></H2> </div><div><ul type="disc"> <li>Advanced knowledge of Hydromet operations and process workflows.</li> <li>Strong background in maintenance and pumping system troubleshooting.</li> <li>Proven ability to mentor and develop supervisors; leads by example.</li> <li>Experience creating and managing runtime KPIs to improve performance.</li> </ul></div></div></div><p><strong>What We Offer You </strong></p> <p>The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently <strong>$105,000-$145,000</strong>. This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
