About the role The Product Line Purchasing Manager aligns the purchasing strategy with REPS Product Line (PL) to ensure supplier cost targets, capacity and footprints meet requirements. Key Responsibilities <ul style="margin-bottom:11.0px"> <li style="text-align:justify">Deliver BOM cost roadmap to support price roadmap;</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Develop strategic suppliers with competitiveness in cost and other competitive advantages;</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Support development of the 10 Year Product Plan: <ul style="list-style-type:circle"> <li style="text-align:justify">Work with PL Directors, Engineering and Sales to develop long term target pursuit plans and a pool of key opportunities;</li> </ul> </li> <li style="text-align:justify">Support development and execution if the 5-year Business Plan: <ul style="list-style-type:circle"> <li style="text-align:justify">Align with Sales/Engineering Match Pairs on future pursuits (Revenue Plan vs. High Priority Overlay vs. Op. Pool);</li> </ul> </li> <li style="text-align:justify">Support benchmark competitor analysis studies, and drive execution of supply based opportunities;</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Work with Product Engineering for design to cost / design for purchasing activities;</li> <li style="text-align:justify">Drive early supplier selection/development to support earlier optimal concept designs; </li> <li style="text-align:justify">Understand ‘should be’ cost versus current pricing and drive any gap closure; </li> <li style="text-align:justify">Support Make Vs Buy studies;</li> <li>Represent Global Supplier Management (GSM) function in product team meetings and drive necessary matched pair activity on pursuits;</li> <li>Regular interface with cross-functional senior leadership;</li> </ul> Qualifications <ul style="margin-bottom:11.0px"> <li>Experience: <ul style="list-style-type:circle"> <li>5+ years of automotive purchasing experience.</li> <li>REPS experience and knowledge of related commodities and cost drivers preferred.</li> </ul> </li> <li>Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of colleagues across functions and regions.
