This position offers an excellent<br>opportunity for individuals to work in a professional learning community wherein faculty<br>contribute to and engage in instructional best practice for adult learners in an innovative,<br>nontraditional university setting.</p> <p><br>Adjunct faculty have part-time teaching roles. Courses are offered on a term by term basis.<br>Adjunct faculty can teach up to 2 courses per term, not to exceed 10 courses per year. This role<br>participates in continuing professional development and may also engage in faculty governance<br>and curriculum work as needed. Additional service activities may be assigned to Adjunct faculty.<br>Scholarship is not required. Teaching assignments for Adjunct faculty may fluctuate and are<br>contingent upon the schedule of courses. Adjunct faculty deliver high-quality instruction and<br>foster an inclusive and supportive learning environment conducive to student success.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What to expect in this role:</b></H2> </div><div><p>● Provides a student-centered learning environment which enables students to attain<br> success.<br>● Teaches synchronous or asynchronous seminars (10 week units) as assigned by the<br> School or program.<br>● Maintains school-determined virtual office hours per week for each class.<br>● Ensures timely management and response to electronic correspondence from students,<br> administrators, and other University officials.<br>● Leads message board discussion and engages students in relevant discussions and<br> coursework.<br>● Partners with Academic Advisors to address student concerns. Refer students who self-<br> identify with a potential need for an accommodation under the Americans with<br> Disabilities Act (ADA) to Student Accessibility Services (SAS), and comply with all<br> student accommodations communicated by SAS in writing.<br>● Maintains and submits accurate and timely reports for student grades/progress.<br>● Delivers mid-term and final grades in accordance with the academic calendar.<br>● Enforces student conduct policies as outlined in the University Catalog.<br>● Attends University, departmental, and faculty meetings as requested.</p> <p>● Remains current with trends, techniques, and advances in technology that are applicable<br> to the program.<br>● Additional duties as assigned by the School.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Experience:</b></H2> </div><div><p>Master's degree in Construction Management, OR a Master's in Business with 18 credits in<br>construction management, OR a Master's in Business or Law with 5 years of work experience in<br>construction management.</p> <p><br>Two to four years related experience and/or training (online teaching experience is a plus).</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What we’re looking for:</b></H2> </div><div><p>● Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite software, such as MS Word, Excel and<br> Powerpoint, as well as Google applications such as Gmail, Chat and Meet.<br>● Experience with Brightspace learning management system (LMS) is preferred.<br>● Capable of building strong working relationships across teams, departments and Schools <br>● Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.<br>● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, balance competing demands for<br> time, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.<br>● Effective analytical skills with the ability to assess situations, resolve issues or make<br> recommendations as appropriate.<br>● Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication<br> style and method to suit different audiences.<br>● Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a professional<br> demeanor with people at all levels within the organization.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Additional Information:</b></H2> </div><div><p>Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. A typical adjunct in the School of Business can expect to receive $2600 per full 10-week course.
