The clinical site is located at The Center for Healthcare<br> Education and Simulation 1795 IA-64, Anamosa, IA 52205.</b></em></p> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Job Summary:</b></H2> </div><div><p>The mission of the on ground, part-time adjunct Nursing Instructor, regardless of the curriculum,<br> is to provide the student(s), our customer(s), with the skills and knowledge necessary to obtain<br> entry-level employment in the field of their chosen program of study. To accomplish this<br> mission, all instructors will utilize their talents, skills, and abilities in a coordinated and consistent<br> team effort under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Education/ Dean/ Program<br> Chair, or his or her designee.</p> <p><br> The Adjunct Faculty position will provide support within the School of Nursing for Fundamentals<br> Lab/Simulation and/or Clinical Operations.</p> <p><br> This Adjunct Faculty provides hands-on technical service and practical application guidance to<br> students and other faculty. The Adjunct assists in the routine maintenance, calibration, and<br> general operation of sophisticated high, mid, and low fidelity simulation equipment, task trainers,<br> audio-visual equipment, and computers used in the training of healthcare professionals. This<br> Adjunct should provide exceptional customer service, including the ability to express technical<br> information effectively to non-technical persons. Ideally the successful incumbent has<br> knowledge of and experience with clinical training equipment and simulation lab operations.</p> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What to expect in this role:</b></H2> </div><div><p>● Provide an engaging learning environment by hands-on activities and with open and timely communication<br>● Provide students with appropriate guidance regarding academic excellence<br>● Partner with advisors and leadership on student concerns, resolution, retention, and outcomes.<br>● Participate in assessment and curriculum review.<br>● Remain current with trends, techniques, and technology.<br>● Maintenance of a professional development plan.<br>● Lab/Simulation & Clinical Support:<br> ○ Set up and maintain the simulation lab and classroom, operating the simulation<br> equipment and virtual reality procedural trainers</p> <p> ○ Ensure compliance with safety practices to minimize risk in the simulation<br> environment<br> ○ Collaborates with other clinical faculty during simulations with the ability to make<br> appropriate adjustments based on needs of the particular scenario.<br> ○ Provide appropriate guidance to students in the simulation setting related to<br> professionalism, practice, and research.<br>● Additional duties as may be assigned by the School.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Experience:</b></H2> </div><div><p><b>BSN, with 2 years work experience as RN.</b><br> Two or more years of experience working with simulation in an educational institution or<br> equivalent setting preferred.</p> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>What we’re looking for:</b></H2> </div><div><p>● Demonstrated proficiency with MS Office suite software, such as MS Word, Excel and<br> Powerpoint, as well as Google applications such as Gmail, Chat and Meet.<br>● Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.<br>● Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, balance competing demands for<br> time, and prioritize workload to meet deadlines.<br>● Effective analytical skills with the ability to assess situations, resolve issues or make<br> recommendations as appropriate.<br>● Effective oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication<br> style and method to suit different audiences.<br>● Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate with a professional<br> demeanor with people at all levels within the organization<br>● Valid driver's license in the state of employment and surrounding states<br> ○ Occasional travel to other Purdue Global simulation centers to assist with<br> operational needs.<br> ○ Occasional travel to support professional development opportunities and required<br> training.</p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Additional Information:</b></H2> </div><div><ul> <li><strong>Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the position is filled. A typical adjunct in the School of Nursing can expect to receive $3300 per full 10-week course.
