This position will play a key role in the preparation of financial and management reports to support long-range planning forecasts; budget recommendations, planning, and analysis; and financial analysis and strategic financial management of college resources. The position will also provide leadership and support within the assigned administration Business office. Including serving in a support role for training and development of staff along with providing business management support for college wide initiatives.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Responsibilities Include:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Serve as the resource/liaison for the Department to the College and central offices.</li> <li>Provide proper interpretation of University, Federal, State, and sponsoring agency policies, and procedures.</li> <li>Collaborate closely with central business service operations and other related entities in meeting the strategic goals of the University. </li> <li>Serve as mentor and key resource person to peers within the Business Office.</li> <li>Maintain a unit that provides excellent business management support to unit Directors, staff, and students.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p> </p> <p><strong>What We’re Looking For:</strong></p> <p><strong>Required:</strong></p> <p><strong>Education and Experience:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Management, Finance, or related field.</li> <li>One year of business administration, financial management, or related experience.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Skills Needed:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Ability to analyze, interpret, implement, and communicate policies and procedures.</li> <li>Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.</li> <li>High level of attention to detail.</li> <li>Ability and knowledge to utilize data reporting tools to analyze data, prepare reports, and present data according to user requirements.</li> <li>Excellent planning, problem-solving, analytical, organizational, project management, financial analysis, supervisory, and customer service skills.</li> <li>Ability to influence and build work relationships among a diverse workforce at all levels. </li> <li>Must be able to foster a participative supervisory style that utilizes accountability, respect and teamwork to successfully guide the work of others.</li> <li>Must possess a learning orientation to changing technology impacting business processes, e.g. SAP, etc. </li> <li>Proficient in following software: Microsoft Office Word, Excel, and Outlook</li> <li>Demonstrate originality, creativity, and ability to resolve complex issues on a daily basis.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>What is Helpful:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A demonstrated knowledge of sponsor and University regulations and basic proficiency in all technical and professional skills related to business office and contract grant management. </li> <li>Knowledge of SAP, Cognos, and Banner.</li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Additional Information: </strong></p> <ul type="disc"> <li><span>Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this position </span></li> <li><span>A background check will be required for employment in this position </span></li> <li><span>FLSA: Exempt (Not Eligible For Overtime) </span></li> <li><span>Retirement Eligibility: Defined Contribution Waiting Period</span></li> </ul> <p><strong> </strong></p> <p><strong>Purdue University is an EO/EA University.</strong></p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px"><b>Career Stream</b></H2> </div><div><p>Professional 1</p> <p>Pay Band S060<br>Job Code #20002426<br>The anticipated annual rate for this position is $56,525 commensurate with the candidate’s education and experience.
