Follow @Kennametal: Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube.</p><p> </p> <p><strong>Press Operator</strong></p> <p><strong>Rogers, AR</strong></p> <p><strong>Shift: 3rd, Sunday - Thursday, 11pm - 7:30am</strong></p> <p> </p> <p>Job Summary and Mission:</p> <p>Run multiple Osterwalder, Dorst, or PCT presses producing a quality product to blueprint specifications.</p> <p> </p> <p>Key Job Responsibilities:</p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Set up and operate a multitude of CNC Carbide Presses which may include the following machines: Dorst, Osterwalder, or PCT. Computer controlled setup of these machines.</li> <li>Make adjustment to CNC programs as a part of setup. </li> <li>Load and off-load trays from multiple presses. </li> <li>Gage parts to insure proper dimensions.</li> <li>Scope parts to verify visual characteristics. </li> <li>Selecting and weighing Tungsten powder for pressing into green parts.</li> <li>Separate scrap from good parts document accurately. </li> <li> Scan correct production information in Mii. Maintain tooling used in machines, resurfacing as needed.</li> <li>Operate other equipment as needed.</li> <li>Train new operators when required.</li> <li>Operators required to trouble shooting moderate to complex problems. </li> <li>Do Quality Checks per Quality Inspection plan, verify powder and lot, verify tooling matches production order and press information sheet. </li> </ul> <p>Key Job Accountabilities:</p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Commitment to working safely and understand all safety procedures. </li> <li>Deviations in routine are handled according to operating procedures and/or work instructions.</li> <li>Operator responsible for following Press Data Sheet, assuring product is processed according to proper routings, specifications and that the quantity and style are correct.</li> <li>Work to meet daily departmental production goals. </li> <li>Must be reliable and dependable. </li> <li>Communicate safety, quality, product issues with supervisor, team members and across shifts. </li> </ul> <p>Education and Experience:</p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>High School Diploma or GED required.</li> <li>2 year technical degree preferred.</li> <li>1+ years manufacturing experience required. Experience with CNC or PLC machine controls preferred.</li> </ul> <p>Work Environment:</p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Environment with controlled temperatures and dust collection systems. </li> <li>Safety glasses with side-shields required. </li> <li>Safety Shoes are required. </li> <li>Gloves, cut resistant gloves when necessary. </li> </ul> <p>Physical Demands :</p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Approximately 8-10 hours standing. </li> <li>Intermittent walking, reaching, sitting, squatting, kneeling and bending.</li> <li>Lifting up to thirty-three (33) pounds. </li> </ul> <p>Problem Solving </p> <ul style="list-style-type:disc"> <li>Run orders by due date.</li> <li>Follow Press Data Sheet and Inspection Standards.</li> <li>Assignments and instructions communicated orally and carried out by standing guidelines.</li> <li>Must inspect tooling as required. </li> <li>Moderate to complex problems solved by operator using learned knowledge of product type, production processes and in some cases, coordination with technical experts inside and outside of the plant. </li> <li>Recurring problems and major decisions receive supervisor/lead attention.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Due to the nature of the operations at this facility, consideration as an applicant is limited to individuals who are either a US Citizen or a US Permanent Resident.
