<div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px"><b>Job Summary</b></H2> </div><div><p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt;line-height:115%">The undergraduate research assistant (RA) will be responsible for data collection in the field for a clinical trial. This is a 12-week pilot study to be conducted at the Indiana Veteran’s Home (IVH).</p> <ul style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 4.0px;line-height:115%">Travel to the IVH 3 or 4 times per week (scheduled days and times) to meet with a cohort of veterans enrolled in the study.</li> </ul> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt;line-height:115%">For each study participant:</p> <ul style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 4.0px;line-height:115%">Conduct a point of care echocardiogram and lung ultrasound using a handheld device.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 4.0px;line-height:115%">Conduct a brief physical assessment including lung sounds.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 4.0px;line-height:115%">Ask the participant a few questions about how they feel (predetermined).</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 4.0px;line-height:115%">Weigh the participant.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 4.0px;line-height:115%">Measure vital signs.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 4.0px;line-height:115%">Document in an electronic record system on a tablet.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 4.0px;line-height:115%">Collect a microsample of blood once per week.</li> </ul> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt;line-height:115%">Education: Students must be sophomore level or higher and currently enrolled in the School of Nursing.</p> <p style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt;line-height:115%">Experience: No prior experience necessary.</p> <ul style="margin-bottom:0.0in;margin-top:0.0px"> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;line-height:115%">Students will be required to complete CITI research ethics training</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 0.0in 0.0px;line-height:115%">Students will be required to attend training sessions to use ultrasound devices and other equipment.</li> <li style="margin:0.0in 0.0in 8.0pt 0.0px;line-height:115%">Students must have transportation to the IVH.</li> </ul></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px"><b>Education</b></H2> </div><div>0</div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px"><b>Experience</b></H2> </div><div>0</div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="margin:0.0px"><b>FLSA Status</b></H2> </div><div>Non-Exempt</div></div></div>
