This position will assist in the development and promotion of a competitive NCAA Division I Men's and Women's Track and Field program, with a focus on the sprints and hurdles event group.</p> <p> </p> <p><strong>Primary Responsibilities:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Assist in the development and promotion of a competitive NCAA Division I Men's & Women's Track & Field program.</li> <li>Understand, follow and enforce all NCAA bylaws, League regulations, and university academic and other policies and procedures.</li> <li>Assist with the recruitment of quality athletes. </li> <li>Assist with the running of practices and practice content. </li> <li>Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes. </li> <li>Assist with the scheduling of contests and travel arrangements (vehicles, meals, lodging, etc.) </li> <li>Assist with any needed coordination of team technical needs, ordering equipment, uniforms, gear and/or supplies.</li> <li>Serve as an instructor for one HPER course per year for the School of Education, including development of course content, materials, evaluation and assignment of grades</li> <li>Reinforce and uphold team rules, behavior guidelines and expectations consistent with university, NCAA, and Athletic Department policies.</li> <li>Create and foster an environment that promotes the overall health and welfare of student-athletes.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Required Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A Bachelor’s degree.</li> <li>2 years work experience at the NCAA Division I, II, or III level, or NAIA coaching experience with a specialty in working with sprints and hurdle event groups.</li> <li>Working knowledge of NCAA DI rules, fundamentals, techniques, and rules of sport.</li> <li>Able to effectively communicate with student-athletes, parents, coaches, media, faculty, staff, students and public.</li> <li>Strong supervisory and public relations skills required along with support of Athletic Department values and principles, and a commitment to fundraising. </li> <li>Able to assist in the assessment of athletic skills and instruct athletes in techniques of sport.</li> <li>Must have a valid driver’s license and remain in compliance with the Purdue University Motor Vehicle Records Check policy.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Preferred Qualifications:</strong></p> <ul> <li>A Master’s degree.</li> <li>Experience at the Division I Level.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p> <ul> <li>Free tuition through Purdue University Global.</li> <li>Fee remission for a traditional Purdue degree for yourself, your spouse, and your child(ren).</li> <li>Insurance starts on first day of employment.</li> <li>Generous Paid Time Off – additional PTO in December.</li> <li>Additional benefit information: <a href="https://www.purdue.edu/hr/benewell/">https://www.purdue.edu/hr/benewell/</a></li> </ul> <p> </p> <p><strong>Additional Information: </strong></p> <ul> <li>Resumes and cover letters that contain portraits or personal information are not permitted.</li> <li><strong>Purdue will not sponsor employment authorization for this position.</strong></li> </ul> <ul> <li>A background check and a Motor Vehicle Records Check (MVR) are required for this position.</li> </ul> <p> </p> <p style="text-align:center"><em>Purdue Fort Wayne is an EEO/EA employer.</em></p></div></div></div>
