Able to perform at a high level of proficiency to complete skilled tasks. Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain shop tools. Operate oxygen and acetylene torch, welding machines, band saws, and other maintenance related fabrication equipment. Operate and maintain portable power and standard tools. Able to operate a forklift and other maintenance related mobile equipment. </span></span></span></span></p> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Principal Duties & Responsibilities</H2> </div><div><ul> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Help maintain and repair mechanical equipment throughout the plant, including:</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Assist with the installation, maintenance, and repair of mechanical equipment throughout the plant.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Electrode welding and acetylene torch cutting (minor assignments).</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Aligning motors, gearboxes, and pumps.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Inspecting, aligning, and replacing belts and sheaves, chains and sprockets, etc.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Rebuilding valves and cylinders, simple mechanical drives and similar devices.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Fabricating simple structures, braces, equipment, etc. from steel, sheet metal or wood.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Pipefitting: screwed, flanged, welded, and glued pipe and fittings for air, water, hydraulic and steam systems.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Rigging with chain falls, jacks, forklifts, crane scaffolds, etc.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Surface preparation through cleanup.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Perform preventative maintenance (PM) to the plant mechanical equipment as specified.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Maintain daily work logs.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Perform routine PM to plant mechanical equipment as specified.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Manufacture parts or equipment to the extent of qualifications as directed by the Maintenance Supervisor.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Test repaired or newly installed equipment. Replace guards, floor grates, etc. Remove all tools, parts, rags, etc. upon completion of assignment.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Follow checkout procedure when removing items from the storeroom.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Follow CMMS procedures to report follow-up work and work found on PM’s.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Consistently practices safe working habits and actively work to promote safety to others.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment as qualified throughout the plant. Perform troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Assure completion of work assignments when working alone or with assistance from other mechanics. Demonstrate the ability to work independently.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.</span></span></li> </ul> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Specialized/Technical Knowledge or Required Skills</H2> </div><div><ul> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">High School Diploma or GED</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">5 years of related experience; Technical educational training through an accredited vocational school will be considered in lieu of experience</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Good Mechanical aptitude</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Ability to work with others as a team. </span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Industrial maintenance testing required for advancement. </span></span></li> </ul> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Physical Requirements</H2> </div><div><p><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Aptos, sans-serif">Work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions often exposed to heat, cold, inclement weather, grease, oils, dust, and dirty working conditions. Work involves standing, climbing, walking on elevated catwalks, work at heights, and lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).
