Shift : 03:00 PM to 11:00 PM (2nd Shift) Security Clearance: No ClearanceGUIDELINES FOR MARINE PAINTER JOURNEYPERSON 4 (Marine Painter) <ul> <li>Must meet all Journeyperson Marine Painter 3 requirements</li> <li>Must also know how to set-up jobs and spraying equipment </li> <li>Must know how to measure and record DFT and environmental readings</li> <li>Must be proficient in brush and rolling painting, general house cleaning, or knowledge of all pumping (gas free) procedures</li> <li>Must be able to oversee a small group of people</li> <li>Should be able to troubleshoot equipment to ensure the job progresses</li> <li>Must be proficient in the requirements of NAVSEA 009-32 standard item</li> </ul> JOURNEYPERSON 3 (Marine Painter) <ul> <li>Must meet all Journeyperson Marine Painter 2 requirements</li> </ul> <ul> <li>Must have knowledge of mixing and application of epoxy and enamel paints</li> <li>Must be able to perform his/her job in appropriate time frame without on-site supervision</li> <li>Must be able to read job specs and complete the job accordingly</li> <li>Should understand the requirements of NAVSEA 009-32 standard item</li> </ul> JOURNEYPERSON 2 (Marine Painter) <ul> <li>Must meet all Journeyperson Marine Painter 1 requirements</li> <li>Must know how to use power tools associated with surface preparation and paint removal</li> <li>Must have knowledge of brushing and rolling painting</li> <li>Must have knowledge of surface preparation SSPC-SP-1, SP-2, SP-3, SP-5, SP-6, SP-10, SP-11 AND SP-12</li> <li>Must have knowledge of the paints used in marine painting, including safety data sheets and NAVSEA 718 product data sheets</li> <li>Must possess knowledge of the differences between critical coated systems and non-critical coated systems</li> <li>Must have knowledge concerning paint induction times and also have some knowledge of spray painting, or pumping (gas free) procedures</li> <li>May have two or more of the following SSPC certifications: C7, C12, C13, or C14 </li> <li>Ability to perform work in confined spaces</li> <li>Knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Item 009-32 and the requirements</li> </ul> JOURNEYPERSON 1 (Marine Painter) <ul> <li>Must be SSPC certified in preservation in one of the following: (C7, C12, C13, or C14) or Coast Guard certified in pumping</li> <li>Must have good housekeeping skills</li> <li>Must know how to take care of hand tools: greasing and storage</li> <li>Must be able to perform their job safely</li> <li>Must have some knowledge about power tool cleaning, or pumping (gas free) </li> </ul> General Dynamics NASSCO is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
