Prioritize, sequence and coordinate all activities to completion in accordance with a plan, schedule and budget. Reports to the Ship Manager. Liaison closely with Quality Assurance, Planning, Engineering, Subcontractors, Materials, Safety, Customers, Vendors and other NASSCO Departments as appropriate. Develop inter-personal communications with Trade Supervision. Actively participate in the creation of policies/procedures that will enhance the role of Area Manager.</span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b><u>ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES </u></b></span></span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Coordinates/support shipboard trades and subcontractors to meet production requirements.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Monitor and anticipate schedule and budget deviations and initiate corrective action.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Monitor trade activities and provide input to the General Forman and/or Assistant Superintendent to initiate appropriate action.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Verify completion of production work for each phase of compartment completion.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Develop work plans in area(s) of responsibilities as required, working with trade supervision and training.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Ensure areas of responsibility are safe and clean at all times.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Initiate resolution of conflicting trade/subcontractors priorities.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Provide input to Planning in regards to zone strategies and work developmental process.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Provide appropriate feedback (lessons learned, ECN’s etc) to Assistant Superintendents, Planning and Management.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Ensure material and equipment protection.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b><u>SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS</u></b></span></span></p> <ul> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">High School Graduate or equivalent with good knowledge of trade responsibilities, ship systems and shipbuilding practices.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Good written and oral communication skills.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Proficient in Microsoft Office.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Good Team Building skills.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Prior supervisory experience.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Knowledge of milestone planning, progressing, ship compartmentation and nomenclature, production methods, procedures and techniques.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Working knowledge of engineering drawings, work instructions, quality assurance procedures and budget and schedule development.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Successfully demonstrated knowledge of company policy and procedure.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Necessity for working extended hours at various times as job accomplishments require, including weekend and holidays.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Incumbent should be in able to spend long hours on the ship and be able to climb masts, enter voids, trunks, and engineering spaces to supervise work.</span></span></li> <li><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Must be able to make decisions, recognize dangerous conditions, know and understand safety, quality assurance, standard items, Union and Ship’s Force style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b><u>PHYSICAL DEMANDS</u></b></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Incumbent will frequently be exposed to dust, welding/burning fumes and smoke and must be able to spend Up to 75% of time in an outdoor shipyard environment in all climates where noise level is usually moderate to extremely noisy 75% of the employee’s time, which may include sirens, horns, chipping and hammering. The remaining 25% of the employee’s time will be performed in an air conditioned office with low noise level.</span></span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"><b><u>ACCOUNTABILITY</u></b></span></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:12.0px"><span style="font-family:Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif">Directly accountable for completion of assigned area, adhering to schedule, budgets and safe working conditions.</span></span></p> <p><span style="text-decoration:underline;font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif"><strong>PAY SCALE</strong></span></p> <p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">$76,500 - $113,600</span></p> <p> </p> <p><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif">The pay range is a reasonable estimate of the annual pay based on full-time work at the hourly rate for this role. Additional income from overtime pay is estimated to be up to $20,000 annually. It takes into account the wide range of factors considered in making compensation decisions; including but not limited to skill sets, experience, training, and education.
