Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use. <div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"> <div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"> Position Summary Provide hands-on technical support to diagnose and resolve equipment and process issues within manufacturing operations. This role partners with cross-functional teams to support safe, reliable performance and continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Serve as the initial point of contact for comprehensive electrical, controls, mechanical, and equipment troubleshooting for production equipment.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Manage and troubleshoot multiple issues concurrently, applying sound technical principles to drive effective resolution.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Coordinate with maintenance and engineering to resolve issues that extend beyond the first level troubleshooting steps</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Monitor area performance, identify equipment and process issues, and resolve issues in a timely manner.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Support preventive maintenance activities and equipment upkeep initiatives.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Communicate updates and provide guidance to ensure production teams remain current on processes, equipment, and standard operating procedures.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Promote a safe work environment and support adherence to housekeeping standards and safety requirements.</li> </ul> Minimum Qualifications <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Associate degree (two-year) in electrical, mechanical, or controls technology preferred; or high school diploma with 5+ years of manufacturing experience.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing electrical and pneumatic controls, including the use of appropriate test equipment.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Demonstrated experience troubleshooting and repairing mechanical equipment ranging from simple to complex.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Working knowledge of sensors, thermocouples (TCs), switches, motors, and actuators.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Ability to read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings and machine specifications.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Strong decision-making and prioritization skills.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Effective communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of the organization.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Proficiency with standard Microsoft applications (e.g., Excel, Word, SharePoint).</li> </ul> Preferred Qualifications <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Ability to use diagnostic equipment.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Basic knowledge of PLCs and/or equipment automation.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Data analysis skills (e.g., PI): ability to use a computer to plot and analyze data.</li> </ul> Work Schedule <ul type="disc"> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">12-hour rotating shifts (night), including weekend and holiday coverage.</li> </ul> </div> </div>This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $59,731.00 - $82,131.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
