Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.<h2>Role Purpose</h2> Performs technical duties and activities within prescribed time frames. Participates in projects that support the development, installation, and improvement of control systems and automation technologies for R&D and manufacturing equipment. <h2>What You'll Do</h2> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Support the design, installation, and troubleshooting of control systems for development and manufacturing equipment.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Design and implement new controls capabilities, instrumentation, and measurement systems.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Collaborate with equipment design engineers, deployment teams, and manufacturing partners throughout the technology development process.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Support equipment startup, commissioning, and process implementation activities.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Develop technical documentation and provide training for new control systems and equipment.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Document testing results, observations, project outcomes, and research findings.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Coordinate and support electricians during equipment installations and upgrades.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Troubleshoot electrical, controls, and instrumentation issues to improve equipment performance and reliability.</li> </ul> <h2>Qualifications</h2> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Experience with industrial controls, automation systems, and electrical troubleshooting.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Familiarity with AutoCAD and AutoCAD Electrical for schematic development.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Ability to read and interpret electrical, instrumentation, and mechanical drawings.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Basic understanding of PLC programming and industrial automation systems.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting skills.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Ability to manage multiple priorities and support project execution activities.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Experience with industrial safety standards, electrical codes, and diagnostic testing equipment preferred.</li> </ul> <h2>Education and Experience</h2> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">2-year technical degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechatronics, Automation, or a related field preferred.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Candidates without a degree should possess 7+ years of relevant technical experience.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Experience with industrial controls, electrical systems, automation, or manufacturing equipment preferred.</li> </ul> <h2>Work Hours and Schedule</h2> <ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Normal working hours are M – F, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.</li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Support off-shift activities, equipment startups, and installations as needed.</li> </ul> This position does not support immigration sponsorship. The range for this position is $58,932.00 - $81,032.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
