Job Summary: <ul> <li>Provides electrical support to the facility by analyzing, repairing and replacing parts and troubleshooting electrical issues as needed. Position is for all shifts throughout the week and holidays.</li> </ul> Qualifications: <ul> <li>To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. </li> <li>The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.</li> </ul> Education/Experience: <ul> <li>High School diploma or equivalent. 5+ years experience.</li> </ul> Certificates, Licenses, Registration: <ul> <li>None required.</li> </ul> Duties and Essential job Functions: <ul> <li>Replaces motors, bearings, brushes, light switches, and other electrical components.</li> <li>Analyses motor and other electrical stoppages/interruptions and repairs as necessary.</li> <li>Reads and uses electrical measuring equipment.</li> <li>Reads and follows electrical schematics/blueprints.</li> <li>Assists with instrument repair during tank rebuilds and installations.</li> <li>Works with Controls Engineers to troubleshoot programming errors or PLC faults conditions.</li> <li>Repairs electrical melting equipment consisting of transformation reactors, circuitry, control panels and metering.</li> <li>Understands how to adjust, program and install VFD’s and PLC’s as needed.</li> <li>Familiar with the use of multimeters, megohmmeters, amp probes, and oscilloscopes.</li> <li>Troubleshoots electrical issues with mechanical Cold End inspection and control systems including glazers, TDMs, cullet conveyors, in line gauging systems (Airline, Rough, End Vision, ID, OD, etc).</li> <li>Makes electrical repairs to glass melting furnace equipment.</li> <li>Maintains records as required.</li> <li>Observes all safety rules and OSHA regulations and performs job in a safe manner.</li> <li>Follows standard operating procedures (SOP, WI, Forms, Flowcharts, etc.).</li> <li>Maintains good housekeeping and 5S.</li> <li>Supports Corning Pharmaceutical Glass activities.</li> <li>Performs other duties assigned.</li> </ul> Health and Safety: <ul> <li>Each employee regardless of their position at Corning is required to assume responsibility for their own actions and to take positive steps in assisting their follow workers in support of a safe working environment.</li> <li>Employee is required to ensure that the Safety Rules and the Standard Operating Procedures are obeyed.</li> <li>Employee is required to immediately record and investigate the circumstances and causes of accidents/near missed and to take the appropriate action.</li> <li>Employee is required to rectify any condition considered unsafe.</li> <li>Employee is required to pro-actively support the Health and Safety Team.
