The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.</span></p><div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Role Purpose</H2> </div><div><p style="text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Ensure financial integrity and support operational performance through accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations and internal controls, and sound analysis of costs, expenses, inventory, and capital investments. Partner with plant leadership to provide financial insights, support forecasting and budgeting activities, and contribute to informed decision-making and continuous process improvement. </span></p></div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Key Responsibilities</H2> </div><div><ul> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Assists the controller by leading the monthly financial closing, reporting and forecasting processes. Responsible for the coordination of team journal entries, reconciliations and accuracy of the general ledger.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Supports compliance with internal and external controls, Sarbanes Oxley requirements, GAAP accounting principles, and Corning policies and procedures.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Facilitates Appropriation Requests process, monitors capital spend, processes asset capitalizations, and maintains accuracy of fixed asset ledger.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Maintains and updates plant standard costs, working with Engineering and Operations to ensure accurate usage rates and labor hours.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Assists Plant Controller with preparation of the annual budget.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Prepares monthly account reconciliations.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Ensures inventory is in compliance with Corning’s policies for valuation, slow and obsolescence (SLOB) reserves, write-offs, etc.</span></li> <li style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt;text-align:justify"><span style="font-family:arial, helvetica, sans-serif;font-size:14.0pt">Monitors spending and works with department managers to control costs.
