This position maintains the safety, security, and cleanliness of the vehicle and equipment, performing pre-trip checks as well as stocking the vehicle with necessary supplies. The Medical Transporter II Driver proactively contributes to Eskenazi Health’s mission: Advocate, Care, Teach and Serve with special emphasis on the vulnerable population of Marion County; and models Eskenazi Health’s values of Professionalism, Respect, Innovation, Development and Excellence. </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Essential Functions and Responsibilities</H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Transports patients to and from diagnostic procedures and tests</li> <li>Transports patients to and from designated outside location using ADA transport vehicles</li> <li>Maintains appropriate logs/records</li> <li>Maintains clean and efficient equipment; cleans wheelchairs and stretchers after each use with disinfectant; reports defective/broken equipment to supervisor</li> <li>Lifts patients onto/out of wheelchairs, stretchers, beds, etc., using the principles of body mechanics</li> <li>Exercises independent judgment in critical, emergency situations</li> <li>Assist driver on vehicle with patients by loading and or traveling as an assistant</li> </ul> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Job Requirements</H2> </div><div><ul> <li>High school diploma or equivalent</li> <li>Completion of CPR certification within 1 month of date of hire</li> <li>Valid Indiana driver’s license that meet Eskenazi Health’s approved driving standards</li> <li>EVOC certification within 6 months of hire as made available by IEMS</li> </ul> </div></div><div style="padding:10.0px 0.0px;border:1.0px solid transparent"><div style="font-size:16.0px;word-wrap:break-word"><H2 style="font-size:1.0em;margin:0.0px">Knowledge, Skills & Abilities</H2> </div><div><ul> <li>Competent in Microsoft Office and the Epic system</li> <li>Excellent judgment and ability to prioritized and handle multiple requests calmly and effectively</li> <li>Basic English reading and writing skills; bilingual is desired but not required</li> <li>Knowledge of hospital layout and procedures; some knowledge of equipment handling</li> <li>Good reasoning ability</li> <li>Knowledge of hospital policies and procedures</li> <li>Promptness, empathy and genuine interest as perceived by patients, co-workers and staff</li> <li>Ability to assess patient needs during transport</li> <li>Must be able to follow written/verbal instructions</li> <li>Flexible to changing work priorities/schedules</li> </ul> </div></div></div> Accredited by The Joint Commission and named as one of Indiana’s best employers by Forbes magazine for two consecutive years and the top hospital in the state for community benefit by the Lown Institute, Eskenazi Health’s programs have received national recognition while also offering new health care opportunities to the local community.
